  Yes, any semi automatic pistol with a detachable magazine cannot have a threaded barrel in California. So in order to be California compliant it cant have one. Second this is new York compliant since it doesnt have a threaded barrel. Hope this helps.

  The California version doesn't have a threaded barrel and the regular p22 does, that's the only difference. Hope this helps.

  Todd, unfortunately this CA model does not have a threaded barrel. • Q: Not thrilled to learn that this does not come with the captured guide rod. Has anyone successfully replaced the factory guide rod for the newer captured version that is standard in the P22Q?
