The CZ Hammer Classic is a gun reminiscent of the guns of the past. It features a case-hardened sidelock receiver with functioning hammers. It is chambered for shells up to 3" long with an incredible 30-inch chrome-lined barrel with a black chrome finish. Precision machining and modern steel ensure that this shotgun will stand the test of time. The Turkish walnut stock has a beautiful oil rubbed finish and a splinter-style forend.

Exquisite shotgun, with a rich historical look. Break open was tight initially, but after 100 or so shells, opens like butter. Bagged a fine Tom with it and was the envy of my hunting party. Comes in a very nice carrying case where it’s stowed in purple velvet, another throwback of yesteryear and a statement about CZs quality. Buds is my go to for best prices, service and execution - flawless again.

I absolutely love this firearm, it shoots great and has the absolutely has the perfect old west style feel. Nice and light for a double barrel and shoots excellent.

I had some problems with the action on the right side trigger. It got to the point where the hammer was hanging up and would not fire at all. So, I sent it to CZ and they were able to fix it. I've run probably 1000 rounds through it since then and it is my favorite shotgun in my collection now. Kicks pretty good but it looks, feels, and shoots excellent.

I received the Hammer Classic today so I have not yet had a chance to shoot it. As I hold it in my hands for the first time, I can say that this shotgun is truly a beautiful piece of work. Freshly minted, it is very stiff out of the box. I knew from watching Hickock 45 and others that this would be the case. I look forward to breaking it in. I am absolutely impressed with the quality of this gun; first-class fit and finish. From all the reviews I have read, I do not expect any issues. Concerning the online ordering of a firearm, I prefer to purchase from a local shop that can handle all the paperwork at once. None of our gun shops had this model, and they said they could not find anything but the coach version in the foreseeable future. When the Hammer Classic showed up on Bud's, I jumped on it. All aspects of the transaction went well. Bud's performed flawlessly. The FFL Bud's recommended performed equally well. It's just that I would rather purchase a firearm that I can hold, examine, and initiate the paperwork all at once and all in the same day. Bud's has obviously earned its stellar reputation with great service. Under the afore mentioned circumstances, I would order from Bud's again. They performed very well in delivering this shotgun. However, the gun case, though still usable, is severely cracked in two places from shipping. In a brick and mortar store, one would not be forced into having to make the decision of keeping the gun or sending it back because of a broken case. Fortunately, the gun itself is undamaged, so I resigned to accepting the fact that I purchased this gun with a broken case.

A beautiful classic firearm that shoots well. I often carry this shotgun while pheasant hunting in Iowa, from 70 deg to -10deg, and have never been disappointed. It is lightweight enough to carry for hours at a time without hammering you senseless when fired. At 6ft the shotgun points and follows well, truly is a hard working firearm in the field.

The CZ hammer classic is an ideal S x S. Beautiful, superb, a shotgun that gives your eyes the far away look of yesteryear. Awesome in form and function. The included choke tubes make this as great shooting a shotgun as any of the S x S shotguns of old. Not as fancy as some of the old doubles but I did not buy it to collect. I’m sure it will serve me well and when I’m gone, my children and theirs will enjoy it as well.
