The new GLOCK 42, in .380 AUTO, is a slimline subcompact pistol engineered with the GLOCK Perfection promise and able to withstand the rigors of routine training. Made in the USA, the G42 is the smallest pistol GLOCK has ever introduced, making it ideal for pocket carry and shooters with smaller hands. Years of requests across market groups for a super-concealable, reliable single-stack .380 GLOCK pistol prompted extensive research and development to bring the GLOCK customer the G42.

Wow this is the best concealed carry gun. My wife has a Glock 19 and i went tried it out and it shot great so I decided to get a Glock myself. It is summer and for me a bit harder to hide a gun so I carried an LCP. It was ok and hid easily. People around the Chicago area freak if they see a gun so I need it hidden well. The Glock is almost as easy to hide as the LCP. Shooting the Glock 42 has a very manageable recoil unlike the LCP. I do not like carry guns with a separate safety switch. I really like the idea of not having to think about it in an emergency. I had a real hard time finding one to buy but Buds had a very few and within a week and a half I had it. Great job shipping and getting it out to me in these times. I used the cash pay and it was great and saved some money. Great way to spend a stimulus check. If you can find one buy it.

I've been very pleasantly surprised by this little tool. My first Glock. I shoot it well and I've had no misfeed issues. Putting it in my rotation for CCW depending on where I am going and what I am wearing.

Yes, you can. Those who move in from out of state are considered a personal firearm importer. You are considered a personal firearm importer as defined by California law. You may bring all of your California-legal firearms with you, but you must report them all to the California Department of Justice within 60 days as required utilizing the New Resident Firearm Ownership Report (BOF 4010A), pdf. You may not bring ammunition feeding devices with a capacity greater than ten rounds, machine guns, or assault weapons into California. Now, if a firearm is NOT on the Handgun Roster you can still bring that handgun in as long as it doesn’t have all illegal stuff. The handgun does not have to be on the roster. I suggest you call several FFL dealers near the area in which you are moving in California. I live in California and firearms laws change all the time by getting worse. It was my pleasure to assist you.

Ronnie - Sure. Honestly, there are hundreds of good "beginner" guns. Most of the medium size 9mm pistols would be fine. The thing about finding a good 'beginner' gun is remembering that after a while, the person shooting it won't be a beginner any longer, and if he gun they have doesn't fit them, they'll no enjoy shooting it. I always recommend going to a range and trying a few guns before actually buying one, or trying out a friend's guns. . That will give you a feel for what feels "right" to you, and you will have a better idea of which direction you want to go. And you'll find the 9mm medium size pistols don't 'kick' any harder than this one, and some might actually feel more 'gentle'. 9mm is a great caliber. 380 is OK too. If you plan on carrying this gun, and using it for self defense only, then it's fine. If you want something you can take to a range and truly enjoy putting a lot of rounds through it then I recommend something just a bit more substantial. A Glock 19 is hard to beat - all the way around - for beginners or 'shooters'
