I received my P290RS from my local FFL, inspected it, and took delivery. Everything was in order, and looked perfect. I took it to the range the next day to put it through its paces. I ran 150 rounds through the pistol, with only one FTF in the first magazine using ball 115 gr Fiocchi. After that first magazine, the remainder of the session was flawless, using not only the 115 gr Fiocchi for the majority of the session, but also ran a box of 124 gr Speer Gold Dot JHP, and Federal Premium 135 gr Hydra Shock JHP. It took me a few mags to get accustomed to the trigger and its break point, but once I did, I was very pleased with the accuracy at 7 and 15 yards, as well as hitting a 20" steel gong at 25 yards fairly easily for this shooter. I also own a Kahr PM9, and a Rohrbaugh R9 (I have a weakness for small 9mm pistols), and this is by far the most pleasant to shoot, as it weighs a bit more to help with recoil. An extended shooting session with this little guy is not out of the question. The grip stippling is perfect, not too harsh like the PM9 can get over the course of a session, but still provides very secure purchase. The trigger is a bit heavier than the PM9 and the R9, but it did smooth out after a few magazines and I became more comfortable with it. Using the extended 8 round magazine, this felt almost like shooting a full size pistol, with my best groupings resulting from this magazine (groupings slightly larger than a golf ball at 7 yards, closer to a tennis ball at 15 with deliberate firing). I am very pleased with this purchase, and look forward to getting out again this afternoon to put a few more through it. Fun little shooter, and solid Sig performance and quality.

My 1st Sig and I'm very impressed with the fit and finish and the way it performs. Ran three different types of ammo (~150rds) through this first time out and had zero issues. Heard the complaints online about field stripping challenges but I don't see it.... very easy to take down in 5 seconds without tools. Recoil is minimal for a gun this size. I'll be buying another Sig soon. BUDS was great as usual.

While looking for a pair of the standard black polymer grip panels, today I took delivery from Bud's via my FFL of my new P290RS with the green G-10 Sig grips. I ran some rounds thru it and I love this pistol! It's my first Sig and the quality and style are truly top notch for a $430 purchase. I am used to all models of Glocks in 40SW, 45ACP and 10mm and their reliability coupled with "2x4" looks. I purchased this little Sig strictly for pocket carry. It is my first 9mm. I've ordered some Double Tap 80gr with Barnes all copper JHP. After researching 9mm carry ammo, I feel comfortable moving down to 9mm to gain the "pocket ability" with a Desantis Nemasis pocket holster. I like the style of the G-10 grips, but they are considerably wider than the polymer grips. I've ordered the "military polymer 3 color set" since Sig could not figure out how to sell me a pair of the standard black polymer grips. If I don't care for the 3 military polymer grip colors, I may post the G-10 grips on this sigforum.com for trade for a pair of the black polymer grips. Anyway, love this little Sig.

This gun is exactly what I expected from previous reviews. The trigger pull is extremely long but smooth. Shot three different types of ammo without any problems. This gun is now my every day carry. Buds was also very prompt and through with all of my questions. Also if you live anywhere near Wabash Indiana I would recommend using Just Hunt for your FFl. Thanks again buds

I took this pistol to the range. I shot about 100 rounds of three different types of ammo, 115 gr Federal FMJ, 124 gr Winchester NATO, and 147 gr Winchester Train and Defend FMJ. The gun performed without a single problem. Accuracy was very good. Recoil is mild for such a small gun. The double action trigger pull was long, but smooth and was about the 8 or 9 lbs that is advertised. I am very pleased with this purchase. It is the perfect concealed carry weapon for me. I had been carrying the Ruger SR9C as my EDC, but I will be using the SIG most of the time now, especially in the Summer. This pistol disappears when carrying in a IWB holster. I use the Cross Breed Holster and it is pleasure to carry. The green/black grips are comfortable and make the gun look unique as compared to the standard black grips. The pistol comes with two magazines, 1 six round, 1 seven round. The magazines are high quality steel construction as is the rest of this pistol. The magazines are a bit difficult to fully load at first, but if you leave them loaded for a couple of days, the springs relax and that makes it easier to load the next time. I suppose you could carry this pistol in your pocket, but I think that IWB is the best due its 20 ounces of weight. Field Stripping the weapon is a little tricky, but there are a couple of youtube videos which show an easy way to remove the slide. All things considered this is a high quality weapon. So, if you are unsure about what sort of "pocket rocket" to get and you were on the fence about relying on a .380, I would suggest the SIG P290RS.
