Don’t need this but wanted one anyway. What can you say, it’s a 460 S&W magnum, if you know, you know. These revolvers are great but ammo is pricey.

I got it about five days ago, shot it today, Hornaday 300grain .460 xtp. Otis’s beast! Most powerful handgun I have shot. Have the S&W .500, haven’t shot it yet, if you not experienced I suggest you wait to purchase this.if you have hand or wrist problems don’t get it.! It is smooth but very POWERFUL! I love it!!

A perfect addition to my "Snub Nose" collection albeit the largest of same. Terrific gun worth every penny to get from the Performance Center. Their extra touches; sights, unfluted cylinder, tensioned barrel, action work, and the overall matte stainless finish are all top notch. Bud's prices and delivery make a great gun even better. I wish it didn't carry the internal safety, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. Shooting similar projectile weights and velocities between this gun and its 500 mag brother, this gun is actually a bit easier to handle due to it's extra mass. AND it's legal in CA!!

If you want to shoot full power loads through this you better put the big boy pants on ��. And lord help you if you aren’t wearing hearing protection! That being said I love this pistol, I prefer to shoot 454 casull through it myself, less recoil and still a hell of a lot of power.

This gun is the perfect back-country sidearm. With proper technique, recoil is nothing to be concerned about and is far easier to shoot quickly than the 500 but I would argue with just as much effective horsepower in performance. My 28 year old, 115-pound daughter shot a bulleye from 25ft on her first shot and now loves this gun too. If she can excel with this firearm then you can too. Buy it!

Purchased for my bear gun while hiking in alaska. I use a Diamond D leather chest holster and is a perfect custom fit. Can shoot a 45 long colt, 454 casul, and 460 mag. Worked my way up from the latter to the mags and will take some a time to be comfortable with the mags. S&W 460 mag is a fine handgun

This gun is AWESOME!! Shoots great and packs a real wallop with 340gr LHC flat nose heavy loads! As for grizzly protection in Northeast ear country, may be a little too heavy to be practical for all-day carry. If you`re going to carry this loaded ready to go, may just as well be better off carrying my short barrelled 45-70 Guide Gun with Garrett heavy +P loads., not much heavier. That said the gun is beautiful, handles well(for its size and weight), and has all the power one can reasonably expect from a "handgun." Buds Gun Shop is the absolute BEST in the industry, and I`ve been buying guns since 1975! If you`re sitting on the fence with this purchase, PULL THE TRIGGER and BUY IT, no disappointments here! As for BUDS I`m a loyal customer for life. I bought my first gun from BUDS on 1/17/17. Have since purchased about another 6 guns, not to mention 4 more on layaway, AND now ALL my ammo, holsters and gear!! Just can`t say enough good things about BUDS! This thing is a beautiful beast! Trigger is smooth, but when fired double action you can feel the heft of the cylinder turning. Handled the recoil very well using the 200gr Hornadys. Grips are more of a gray in color than I expected, but they are comfortable.
