The general (Internet) consensus on these magazines is that Ruger needs to redesign them. They don't feel real sturdy. However, I have several of them and have not had any issues. There is a mark on the top to show you where to insert the cartridge. Insert it there and they go in fine. I have not had any problems with misfeeds, jams, etc. As for Buds, delivery was quick and the price was the best I've found!

Easy ordering mag was exact fit

I bought this as a spare for my Ruger predator .223 and it did not feed well. Rather than file a new magazine I called Ruger who immediately sent me out a new one. They said to keep the other one so I filed it and it was working within ten minutes. Buds shipped it fast and Rugers customer service was great.

I purchased this magazine as an extra for my ranch rifle. Always nice to have an extra. It was shipped promptly and received quickly without issues. I'm sure it's fine although I haven't used it yet. Bud's is the best. Thanks

I ignored and thus missed the rotary magazine phenom of the late Sixties and early Seventies in the 20th Century, which was spawned and principally the territory occupied by the Ruger 10/22. I came late to the party in the Eighties and Nineties via vintage Savage 99 rifles in .243 Winchester, 250 Savage, .308 Winchester and .358 Winchester chamberings. Better late than never. So I was neither surprised by, nor skeptical of Ruger's application of a rotary magazine in their American Rifle line. A rotary magazine is by design: "available space" efficient; dependable; smooth feeding and rugged. The Ruger American Rifle magazine is no exception. And being made of mostly Polymer materials, it is, IMHO, both state of the currently practiced art and price efficiency in rotary center fire rifle magazine to date.
