I have 5 1911 pistols in various calibers and manufactuers. The prices go as high as $1500. This pistol cost me $408. It works every time I pull the trigger no matter what ammo I use. I have fired over 500 r ds with no malfunctions. It is also very accurate. The trigger is also go. The only thing I've done is paint the front sight yellow so it shows better. Great gun.v7th

This is the first pistol I bought online. I have to say, the experience was excellent. As for the pistol, Citadel 9mm 1911 officer, this gun is very accurate. Where you aim it hits. I recommend buds gun shop and Citadel products to everyone.

I love this gun, it has a good weight for recoil but may be a little heavy for some people all depends on your preference. The safety features are nice (no decocker) all black sights. I painted mine easier to see now, easy to do.( go to YouTube) nice wood grips and feels good in my hand.

Just took the gun today to the range. Shot 300 rounds through the gun. It was perfect. This is a great gun. On!y draw back is the sights. Would recommend changing. The gun itself was flawless, just ate the rounds up.
When I got the gun it was soaked in oil in a plastic bag. Manual was not to helpful, but on YouTube found video and was a big help. Cleaned it up and it was ready to go.
Great CCW weapon, would highly recommend to anyone

I can tell you this Citadel 9MM is worth its weight in silver that for sure and a steal for the price I payed. This is a RIA contractor trusting your life too and I am willing to bet mine on. Very satisfied with this workmanship and looking forward many years of service. These are not your light weight plastic pop glocks. Heavy duty Bull Barrel 2.2lbs keep you on target and steady your aim with the heavier gun. The price at Bud's was not to be found in any shop that is what I am finding, I wish I could afford more when a deal like this comes around.. Thank you Bud's , Happy Holidays D.R.

After looking at several similar 9mm 1911 officer pistols, I found this Citadel model at Buds. The price was much better than the other candidates and since the reviews of other Armscor built pistols seemed favorable I placed an order. Buds service was first rate, as usual, and when the pistol arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The photo on the web site did not do it justice. The machining was very clean and crisp and the parkerized finish was perfect. The frame slide fit was not as tight as a competition gun, but was better than you would expect on a service pistol. The trigger was excellent and as creep free and crsip as the one on my Colt Commander. Internally, the parts were well done and I was thrilled to find a ramped barrel with a well polished ramp. The top of the disconnector was also well polished. The only things that might have been better were the shallow laser engraved checkering on the grips and the sharp corners on the bottom of the checkered mainspring housing that felt uncomfortable in the hand. A minute or two with a fine file and some flat black paint took care of the sharp checkering points at the base of the housing. The standard thickness grips looked good despite the shallow checkering, but I decided to replace then with a set of slim cocobolo grips, bushings and screws. Now it looks fantastic and is comfortable to hold.
At the range, the pistol performed well with no problems and both magazines fed a variety of 9mm cartridges with no issues. Accuracy was great for a short barreled pistol and recoil was very manageable due the weight of the all steel construction. The weight is several ounces less than a full size 1911 but is still heavier than a comparable alloy framed 1911 Officer model. For those who might consider this as a carry gun, the bit of extra weight may be an issue.
All things considered, I feel this Citadel 1911 Officer pistol is a great pistol at a great price and coupled with Buds excellent service is a fantastic value.

Bought the Citadel because Rock Island Armory no longer sells the 1911 compact in 9mm. The Citadel is made by Armscor who also makes the Rock Island. The Citadel somes with two mags. and wooden grips while the Rock Island only had one mag and rubber grips. I've only had the pistol a little over a week and have only about 150 rounds through it. NOT ONE SINGLE MALFUNCTION. I have another Armscor 1911 Full Size pistol with over 8000 rounds through it and I expect this one will perform just as well.

My citadel 1911 9mm has been a good gun so far. fit and finish are nice for the price, and with a little honing and polishing on the inside it now is every bit as good as a 1000 dollar gun.
the one downside is some misfires and jams which have occured mostly with reloaded ammo. some cheaper blazers don't work too well either. Based on research I have done I am polishing the ramp and getting another magazine, as the stock ones may not be the greatest. Wish it had white dot sights as well but can make that mod too. Overall good value for the gun tho.
