• Q: This says it fits the 88, but the forend doesn't look like has the slide rails on it. How would that issue be handled? Ty

  The pump forend is nothing more than a thin metal tube with the slide rails welded to it. The forend slides over the tube and action rails assembly and held in place by a castle type nut at the front of the forend. To disassemble the forend remove the forend assembly from the firearm (disassemble the firearm), unscrew the castle nut at the front of the forend. Slide the tube and action bars out of the old forend. To reassemble insert the tube and action bars into the new forend and replace and tighten the castle nut it to hold the new forend. Reassemble the firearm. Issues you should be aware of. The treads on the castle nut are VERY fine and the tube is very thin. The nut is designed to use a special wrench to disassemble. You run about a 95% chance of messing up the tube, threads, or nut using anything but the correct wrench. Due to the fine threads on the pump assembly and age uses etc. you may still need to get a new pump assembly. Any rust, dirt, grit, or past attempts at disassembly may have jammed the nut making it's removal impossible. A gunsmith would likely be able to handle the forend swap with minimal charges, just remember the gunsmith can not be 100% sure the nut will come off without issue. But they are prepared with the proper tools and experience to reduce the chance of damage.
