Shoots well and cycles after some break in due to the magazine not the gun. Huge improvement for range and knockdown over standard 22lr. Used for Prairie dogs and raccoon calling. Perfect all around gun small caliber

Just got this rifle about a week ago and it is really accurate but I have to hold a slight pressure up on the magazine or the gun wont cycle. This is using Hornady 17 Gr V Max, 20 Gr XTP and A17 ammo and 3 different Mags, will try it for a couple hundred rounds and if still doing it will contact Savage.

Bought the Savage A17 because I was wanting for a semi auto in 17 cal. to use on small game and varmints, mounted a scope on it and sighted it in with 1 clip and was shooting nickle size groups at 100 yards with the second clip. I had no issues with jams or failure to feeds. Love this gun more power than a 22 and fun to shoot .

great gun for practice shot many rounds bought two 25 round mags for this rifle worked fine but the ones came with it are not that great.

I’ve always wanted A very small caliber rifle since my days in W Germany back in the 70’’s. They fired a .14 and .17 cal rifles at basement type indoor ranges. So when Savage came out with this semi auto,I had to obtain. It is a sleek little game rifle at ranges under 100 yards.
