Most of the early mountain men and traders carried a single-barreled pistol and they were popular for years. These pistols had proven themselves reliable, and that was of great importance to a trapper who might have to stake his life on a pistol's ability to provide a back-up shot in what could be a desperate situation. The Trapper pistol's primitive-style adjustable rear sight, octagonal barrel and doubleset triggers (capable of firing set or unset) allow you to predictably put your shots on target. This particular pistol is .50 caliber Percussion and has a 9.75" octagonal blued barrel. It is 15.5" in length and has a select hardwood stock.

Great Pistol, Bud's service great as always. I have an issue loading .50 cal balls with a pre lubed patch. It's extremely difficult to get the ball all the way down the barrel. I damaged the ramrod that came with the pistol, probably shouldn't have used it but it's all I had. the caps get stuck in the hammer are difficult to remove but since this is a brand new pistol I'm sure these issues be worked out with use.

Traditions Firearms Trapper 44 Cal Black Powder Pistol [P1100] $6,543.21 Mine is .50 cal. to match my Hawken, and did not cost that much .Fun to shoot and make noise with!

Absolutely beautiful.The look, feel and weight are solid. Great black powder weapon so I bought a second one from Buds.These are very fun to shoot but word of caution, if going to a firing range call ahead of time to ask if they accommodate black powder weapons. At some point Ill get me a Colt for my collection but thats down the road.

set trigger does not work. i have gun smith friend he ser proken part from factory he will fix for me. very dissapointed that you sold broken product, never got toshoot it

I am new to this, so my review will be simple. I absolutely love this Trapper!
Shipping was a while, but in these days, I was ok with that.. Buds kept in contact, as not to worry, and I wasnt.
Pistol arrived, looked awesome, I went out to try her out, and out of the box, I was grouping shots, very impressed !!
I think this is a great intro to black powder, I'm very happy !!

Beautiful gun. Shoots great. Only problem I had was the nipple cracked after about 7 shots. Not sure what that's all about. Got to get a replacement then back in business.

I've owned this for a few years now and I'm just getting around to the review. This is a beautiful piece, very accurate up to about 35 grains, groups start to open up if I load much more than that. I'd buy it again.
