More than most will need in an AK, but if you're looking for the highest quality platform, and a bit more weight than a stamped receiver, this is the way to go. Underfolder adds to the appeal -- for collectors, shooters, and all current, past, and prospective (or internet) paratroopers. Four stars only because of higher cost.

Super great AK!! Reliable as always but the fit and finish really set it apart!!! Just know you can not add any other stock options without major reconstruction of the receiver. So make sure you are happy with an under folder because some people are not huge fans. Also there is no built in scope mount. Amazing rifle awesome quality!!

First ever AK and I think I picked a good one. First of all, Buds is like the Amazon Prime of gun sales. Seriously. Picked up the gun at FFL 2 days after buying it. Now on to the gun. The build quality on this rifle is second to none. I have owned and shot HK firearms of which I regard as some of the very best in gun craftsmanship and I do not consider it an exaggeration when I say that this Arsenal rifle completely blows them out of the water in terms of an absolute bank vault feel. The thing is solid as a rock. While the folding stock is not ideal it really isn’t uncomfortable to shoot at all due in no small part to the weight of the milled receiver soaking up a lot of the recoil as another reviewer noted. The bottom line is that I love this rifle. I’m so glad I went the extra mile and got an Arsenal rather than a Century. I look forward to the many thousands of rounds I will end up putting through this rifle over the years. Buy yourself some surplus mags and maybe even a drum mag if you want. We’ve got a winner.

The good: The rifle is very good, the action is smooth, it'll hang up if you're really riding the handle on the hammer but the spring pressure will make it go forward. The stock is better than people give it credit for, i was hesitant because people said its uncomfortable, I'll be the first to say I'm a pansy for recoil and the added weight makes it recoil less than a sks with a steel buttplate. All the fitments are very solid and the sling that comes with it is very usable The bad: The rifle came to me not very well zeroed, its shooting high and right off the target at just 50 yards. The sights are just ever so slightly canted. When its properly zeroed i suspect it will be bang on and the sights will be perfectly centered in the ears. Theoretically the way its manufactured it shouldn't have hardly any ability to be canted. The ugly: The finish. for $1300 you should get a more durable finish, I lubed my rifle and after around 250 rounds some of the parts have had their finish worn off and their parkerizing showing, with some high friction areas worn to bare metal already. It hasn't bubbled on the barrel though after multiple attempts for it to do so. I personally am going to get the rifle cerakoted just for peace of mind for long term storage. After everything is said and done, would I buy this rifle knowing what I know now? Absolutely. There is no replacement for a milled AK. They will last until the sun consumes the earth, and probably a few hundred years after. Just understand that they are very different animals than AR's, and trying to turn it into one (especially in the finish department where it takes 1500 rounds to wear the finish off the locking lugs) is going to get expensive, as well as being limited to only a ultimak rail on this model. Just throw some surplus wood furniture onto it and use the iron sights and youll have a badass looking rifle. Everyone at the range will want to shoot it, and the ammo is cheap enough that you can let them and not feel bad.

I am very impressed with the SAM7UF. Even though I haven't fired it yet, the fit and finish on this rifle are absolutely amazing. This rifle is solid and well built. I would say the quality is better than my Izshmash built SGL-31 (AK74) and proibably better than any AK I've ever owned. The action is the smoothest that I have seen on an any AK variant. The double hook trigger is light and smooth and should be easy to work with when shooting for accuracy. The under folding stock is tight and locks up solidly when opened or closed. Apparently the Bulgarian Arsenal plant has really perfected the process of manufacturing these guns. I can't wait to get it to the range and put some rounds through it. I think this rifle has really restored my appreciation for the AK platform.
