Received the rifle well packaged and undamaged in the original box. All pieces were well packaged and in brand new condition.
Once I installed scope rings and a scope, it took 5 shots to sight in at 100yds. Bolt action is stiff and has a slight catch when ejecting a spent round, seem to catch on the next round in the magazine. I'm assuming the magazine follow up spring is just stiff and this will smooth out as it softens up.
Great shooting rifle, should do well in the deer woods.

This is my first Ruger centerfire rifle and I am very impressed with the accuracy that it produces. Being a large bore rifle, I was not expecting to obtain a 1 hole group at 100 yards with this rifle, but it has surpassed my expectations with great satisfaction. It handles my reloads of a Hornady 250 gr. FTX bullet, using Lil'Gun at 2400 fps with ease and superb accuracy.

Nice fit and finish, stock is sturdy; I fitted with sun rings and prostaff 3 x 9 bdc with 3 inch eye relief! Prob. be set to 3 x most of the time. Its not a compact gun. Find rings that will be close to zero with your scope (weaver quads high). I have reloaded rounds already and it shoots fine--rifle accuracy--, need to mic rounds oal and the case mouth to specs and good to go. Trigger is very decent. Basically gun is a utilitarian hunter that with care and cleaning will be a family heirloom. I expect more bullet choices to be offered; handloading allows hunters to make trail boss reduced loads using 45 lc bullets for close up work, they will still be lethal on deer 75 yds, the ftx for long shots. Also my friend bought an AR upper, being a semi auto users advised to learn the habits of the semi with these bullets: racking rounds can act like a bullet puller. So factory rounds for hunting and follow up shots, squibs scary as are some of the opinions in forums for the 450bm.

Bought to use in Iowa shotgun deer season. First year for straight walled cartridge rifles. This rifle looks good and shoots great. First 2 shots at 50 yds were touching using Hornady Custom 250 gr FTX. Moved back to 100 yds and after 3 more shots had it shooting 3 in high and centered. Took 3 more shots for group and was very impressed. 3 shot group measured 0.7 in. I'm no great shooter and this was done from my lawn chair and a Caldwell Fieldpod. That's just how good this gun really is. Before shooting I lowered the trigger pull to 3lbs. 8oz. When I reassembled the gun I torqued the action screws to 80 in. lbs. Trigger is very good but I am replacing it with a 2 lb.Timney trigger to match my other rifles. I just prefer a light pull and smooth trigger surface. As far as recoil goes it's a cream puff compared to my 12ga. pump slug gun. Feels more more like a push than a kick, Some have likened it to a 20 ga.and that sounds about right. Happy Hunting.

this rifle is very accurate and light weight recoil in this 450 bushmaster is more of a push and not hard at all but recoil is subjective. i like the burnt bronze cerokote and the camo pattern very nice rifle
