Overall it is a fair price for a fair gun. Nothing stellar. The sights are off, trigger pull is massive. I am keeping the gun because I have made repairs and things are better with the sights and trigger. I do not feel ripped-off, I just would not buy it again.

My favorite concealed carry. Can't go wrong with Taurus, and the concealed hammer makes it even safer.

Was having a hard time loading 15 rounds into the mags and sliding the slide on my pistol . Went back to good ol reliable revolvers . While most only hold 5, 6 or 7 rounds accuracy makes up for the other 5-9 rounds . This revolver fits right in my hand , easy to shoot minimal to no recoil regardless of the grain and easy to on person carry concealed .

Great little affordable 38 right here. Plenty accurate and concealable.

It's ok. A bit heavy but looks well made till you realize there is a ton of cylinder slop, I'm talking 3/16 " or more. Not impressed. For the money I guess it's an ok fishing box wheel gun

Great EDC gun. Six shots is a definite plus. Recoil isn't terrible. Accuracy is great for a stub nose at self defense distances. Hammerless design provides a no snag draw whether in a belt holster or pocket carry. Lifetime warranty anda $50 rebate..

This is the perfect sized conceal carry gun for my wife. Easy to operate and has a punch.

My first revolver, I wanted to start small and work my way up - something I do with firearms themselves but also the caliber of ammunition - this was everything that I had hoped for. SOLID piece of steel, has a real heft to it. Arrived in flawless working order, with a nice layer of gun oil still leftover from its time at the factory. Zero issues feeding (its a revolver), and I have zero doubts that it will fire when I need it to (because its a revolver lol). Awaiting some time off to hit the range!

Great little 38 shoots well

After having the S&W 762, I wanted to see how this compares. It holds it own for sure, especially for the price.

Well built but heavy. Thought it would be lighter. Bought a .357 of a different brand on the same day. The 357 is lighter.

I love this gun, I’m a big guy with big hands, but the way Taurus shaped the handle it fits like a glove. Out of the box it was nicely oiled, well put together. Thank you Taurus for thinking about the shooter when you created this small pocket rocket! And the sights are amazingly placed with a low profile and nice placement on target. I look for to buying the Taurus 605 next!!!!

The Taurus 856 .38 special is exactly what i was looking for personal protection! Easy carry with little recoil when fired. This weapon is definitely top shelf to me! I prefer revolvers.

I really do enjoy this revolver BUT... According to the weight description on this item, it weighs about 16 oz. That's why I ordered it. THIS REVOLVER WEIGHS 21 OZ. When I received it at my FFL, I took it out of the box to examine it and it felt much heavier than 16 oz. I asked the dealer to weight it for me (he has a scale) and it weighed 21 oz. I almost did not accept it but after a little deliberation I went ahead and decided to keep it. It's still a very nice revolver. Just not what I thought it would be.

I got tired of driving to shops, hoping they had the model I was looking for. This was my second order from Bud's - perfect transactions and good pricing. I have not shot this model yet, picked it up a couple of hours ago. But perfect condition, easy transaction. This gun was purchased for simplicity of operation. Dry fire testing of the trigger is outstanding, out of the box, I cannot wait for some range time and will update with my experience.

Excellent revolver fit and timing are great trigger if very smooth. The finish is above average for a $250 pistol. I would for sure suggest this one!
