Henry has checked all the boxes with the Homesteader. The only negative for me are the sites! With my cataract surgery I can no longer see them.

I chose this version of the Homesteader for the longer barrel and have no need to muffle the report. I have had the rifle to the range now twice and expended about 300 rounds. Not a single malfunction! It patterns reliably at 50 yards (hits exactly where I aim it) which makes sighting in a scope very easy. I immediately replaced the magazine adapter with the included Glock one which worked perfectly. Disassembly, cleaning and reassembly was easy with the exception that the video and the manual state "peeling away the action bars" but my copy of the rifle requires the action bars be pushed forward to release them from the weight. I don't have the hand strength to do this but a brass drift and very small tap from a small hammer works perfectly. The receiver is designed to allow the barrel to be cleaned from the chamber end. The wooden stock is of outstanding quality and provides for easy mounting of the rifle and complete insulation from the barrel's heat. I rented other 9mm carbines at the range and this one, although a bit more expensive, was far more attractive and reliable to shoot than the other rifles I tried.
