Good shotgun for home!

shotgun is exceptionally light and very powerful. Slugs load really smooth and has nice range. Hits an out did themselves with this baby

I’m quite late with this review but, I want to say, for what I paid for this shotgun, it’s unbeatable. It has all the features I was looking for, at a much cheaper price than others. It’s a Benelli M4 clone at a fraction of the cost. It functions well, with around a 30 round break in. At first it had a problem cycling 2 3/4” lighter 12 ga. loads but, gradually cycled better as break in progressed. I bought one for myself and one for my son. Combined, they cost quite a bit less than half the price of a Benelli. Nothing against Benelli, it’s a great shotgun! I own one myself. The girsan is a bit heavier, not terrible though. For a fun knock around shooter that you don’t worry about dinging up, it’s the one for me.

Only took heavy rounds. Wouldn’t cycle anything light, to be expected from a beefed up auto inertia driven 12 GA. Was a comfortable platform and a formidable shotgun. Would serve as a reliable home defense or hog gun, not much else.

Love this Shotgun, Shoots great, action feels good

I got the gun with no issues and was impressed by the quality of it for the price paid. I really like the ability of the gun to take screw in chokes. It makes it a handy gun for deer hunting and home defense. It is utterly reliable with any high brass shells and is a pleasure shoot. It has the same operating system as the Benelli M2 but without the price of a benelli. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

This was my first shotgun purchase, and I did not go wrong. This thing was a beauty out of the box/hardcase and it weighs less than most AR's . It was already lubed up so to the range I went. I broke it in and my shoulder with some Winchester 3'' 00 buckshot, then some 2 3/4 #4 buckshot and they ran flawless, i will say it doesn't kick as much as a pump action but it does punch. It has a rubber pad on the end but I will be investing in some kind of recoil pad like a Limb Saver or Hogue. Dealing with Bud's was a breeze as usual.

Great product as described

I happened to jump on the website to look at my order I had placed the day before and this was on the homepage on sale. I really liked the look, feel and options it came with for the price. Went ahead and ordered it as well. Operates great, no issues so far. Plenty of aftermarket upgrades out there for it. This was my 3 purchase from Buds and as usual all was great. Easy to buy, fast shipping and all was in great condition. Just purchased my 4th firearm from Buds today can’t wait till that comes in to add it to the collection.

For the price I guess you can't go wrong. This is my first shotgun. I cleaned and lubed it before I shot it. The first time I went and shot target and bird loads (Winchester 2 3/4, 1325 & 1350 velocity , 1 oz, 7 and 7 1/2 shot). It would not cycle properly. Just about every round would not feed or eject properly. I went through about 40 rounds. Cleaned and lubed again. Second time I went out I shot Winchester High Brass 2 3/4, 1330 velocity, 1 1/4 oz, 7 1/2 shot,) and it worked like a champ. Went through 40 rounds and only 1 FTE. I don't know if it needed to be broken in or if the slight difference in ammo might have helped. I have buckshot on order and I'm sure it will do better with the heavier loads. Buds is great. Best prices. Be patient with them during this COVID19 crisis. Good luck!

The Girsan MC312 HDT Tactical shotgun from Buds is a great deal for $249.00. This is not a gun for the first time shotgun purchaser since there are some caveats, which Buds does explain in a video on You Tube; pointing out the difference between the HDT and LDT MC312 models. I have read some of the reviews prior to purchasing this gun and noticed that there were issues posted regarding failure to extract or eject with the HDT gun. That model is designed to shoot high velocity ammo in both 2.75" and 3" shells. It is recommended using ammo over 1300 fps (get a Limbsaver #10823 recoil pad); you're gonna need it. Lower velocity ammo will not extract and eject the shells consistently due to the heavy recoil buffer spring. The fix would be to replace the existing spring with a reduced power spring from Taran Tactical Innovations. Since this gun is basically a copy of the Benelli M2 design, many Benelli M2 components will work in the MC312 with exception of magazine extensions...the factory mag tube need to me trimmed down and it requires a Benelli Nova extension nut. The bottom line is if you have the skill and patience to do some work on the MC312, it becomes an awesome piece. Winchester AA low velocity loads at 1145 fps....no problem. Us old guys need not wear out our shoulders, any more then they already are, shooting that heavy stuff.

Girsan MC312 Tactical is a beautiful shotgun. Fit and finish are best-in-class from stock to foreend. Sights are easy to pickup even in low light. Action is smooth and trigger is crisp with no creep or stacking. Recoil is light compare to my Rem 870. Buy it while you can.

Great gun for the price. Bought this one mostly for home defense. I shot it a few times at the range and it shot well and cycled the shells really good. Would definitely recommend this one. Great service through Buds and will definitely shop again.

This is the second MC312 HDT I purchased from Buds. This one did not come with the shell holder as pictured, was kinda PO'd about that. However, with heavy loads, this one seems to run more reliably than the first. After a box of high brass, it seems to be broken in and running flawlessly. May swap the shell holder over and keep the 1st as a backup. Shell holder or not these are a fantastic value for $249.00. I haven't extended the mag tube yet, but a Nordic Components super benelli nut fits and this should not be real involved modification.

how many choke tubes are there

Haven’t shot it yet but the overall quality seems rather nice! Bolt is very smooth and the parts all fit together very tight. Butt stock reminds me of the quality on the M16A2s I used in the military. Comes with a cheap hard case, the breacher choke, and a flush fitting cylinder choke. Overall, very nice, looking forward to shooting it! Buds shipped quick! Absolute great value for the price!

I was amazed at how smooth the action is. So far no jams or other problems and I highly recommend this shotgun. I bought the tactical and the use of the handle greatly reduces recoil. Buds was quick to ship to my FFL.

For under $300 bucks this is a must buy! Took it home cleaned it up and headed to the range. Flawless with high brass birdshot, buck and slug.
This semi only functions with hot loads. Ghost ring sights, side saddle and rail you can't beat it. Nice Benelli

I have been pleasantly surprised by this gun. For $249, you can not beat it. Even for full retail of nearly $700 this gun is a great deal. I have run several kinds of ammo through this gun and it has functioned flawlessly. Very well made and the action is smooth as glass.

I had a chance to take my Girsan hdt out this weekend. I shot about 100 shells through it no problem accept 1 light strike which wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I wouldn’t recommend 3” shells out of it because of the stout recoil. I had a little bit of rust on the barrel taking it out of the box but nothing that a little clp wouldn’t take care of. Overall for the price i think it’s a good shotgun if your in the market for a budget friendly semi auto.

I already had the Zenith Girsan version of this gun, and figured that for the price I couldn't afford to not buy a back up. The only difference I can tell is that the Zenith gun comes with a Chrome plated bolt, this one is blued. I tried to run some 3.5 dram birdshot loads through this gun with no luck (they have cycled through the Zenith gun since day one) almost every round was a fail to eject. A box of 3 dram was similar results. Several fail to fire rounds also occurred. Seems like the bolt is cycling slugishly. Three 3 inch slugs cycled fine with the cases being thrown about 10 feet away.
I have read the comments from other shooters, I am going to clean and lube with some of that space age lube and try a box of high brass stuff. If possible, this one even seems to kick more than the Zenith gun. I'm glad I paid the few extra bucks to get the Bud's lifetime guarantee. I'm going to rate this at 4 stars because the Zenith gun has been flawless, I think this one will be too after it is completely broken in.
