Usual S&W quality! I chose this model because there is no key lock safety on it.

Easy to use, specially for a female (my spouse) and love the hidden hammer.

My 642 is my go to carry gun. I’ve e got a hip grip on it and tuck it in my waste band. The other nice thing about having a hammerless revolver Is the ability to have it in a pocket with your hand on it and being able to fire it straight through. It comes in handy when strolling through the land of oz when the wicked witch sends her flying minions after you.

This revolver has worked great since I bought it and run several rounds through it. Tipical GREAT craftsmanship for S&W.

This is a Best Buy revolver. S&W quality at a reasonable price. We’ve had this one a while now and it runs like a chap. It’s surprisingly accurate and is, of course, well made. It is light, and therefore snappy with +P loads. It’s an impressive little gun and a sure bet for quality and value. Thumbs way up!

Exhalent CCW gun! Fits in any pocket and you will forget it is even there, very lite. I would purchase again. You will NEVER go wrong with S&W purchase.

Nice, concealable little revolver. Not a tack driver, by any means, but few snubbies are. Recoil is stout with +P loads, but for a reliable, self-defense revolver, this is a good choice. As always, Bud's shipped the firearm quickly, and it arrived at my FFL as advertised.

Great little gun does just what it should every time if you are looking for a great little pocket pistol this is the one it fits well in pocket and functions great ever time you pull the trigger

I received this weapon through a speedy 2nd day air delivery. The product arrived in flawless condition. The weapon operates smoothly. It is small and light enough to be easily concealed carried; however, feels very solid. I am looking forward to purchasing another weapon from Bud's!

I picked this gun up as a foolproof, close range self-defense weapon. It arrived quickly and was in terrific shape. I've put about 50 rounds thought it since, and its performance was flawless as expected. Recoil is remarkably light for as tiny as this gun is. It's important to remember this is a up-close-and-personable weapon, not a target shooter. The front site is ok, but the rear site is pretty poor (just a notch). Couple that with a 1 7/8" barrel and you don't have a recipe for accuracy. Nothing other than that I would really change though, as the weapon serves a distinct purpose. Bud's service was excellent and I'll buy again from them. A great little revolver that packs a punch and can serve its purpose in your arsenal.

I've been carrying my Airweight for a year now, and can honestly say it is a great pocket carry gun. I don't feel dressed without it! It is lightweight, easy to conceal, and very accurate. I usually wear blue jeans, and this gun fits great in the pocket with a pocket holster. The quality is what one would expect from Smith and Wesson, top shelf all the way. You won't be disappointed with this gun.

I bought this puppy so I could carry a small firearm FOR POCKET CARRY. For pocket carry, the 642 is not the ideal choice, but does work well when you have a lot of pocket space and can handle the weight of the gun. I have noticed, due to the width of the cylinder, that people can actually see the butt of the gun in my work pants, so that is a no go. As for accuracy, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with this thing. After about 200 rounds of practicing, I could hit a basketball sized target from 21 feet...which is ok. You MUST practice a lot with this gun. For dependability, I've never encountered a single malfunction with this gun. Overall, not an ideal choice for pocket carry or precise shooting. Other than that, great gun. Quality is great, btw

First revolver purchase, and am very happy with it. Fit and finish is top notch with the exception of the trigger which looked like it was blackened (from a heat source?) but most of it cleaned off. Mechanically the gun was perfect with absolutely no problems after feeding 200 rounds through it including half a box of +P Hornady Critical Defense. Shooting was remarkably comfortable given the light weight of the revolver and relatively small grip surface (my pinky finger hangs off). Would not recommend ever trying to reliably hit anything beyond 10-20 yards. but this is expected due to the short barrel and isn't a criticism of the gun itself. I bought this as a backup gun or as a primary to be pocket/ankle carried with dress clothes. For that role it is perfect and would recommend some Tuff Quickstrips to allow faster reloading without carrying an egg shaped speed reloader. Third purchase from Buds with only a minor issue ( ordered Sunday night but it did not ship until Tuesday - got it Thursday though so not a complete problem). Five stars to S&W.

First, kudos for the quick service from Buds. Plus, the transfer FFL in Ashland, KY. Kitchen's Guns was nothing but first class service all the way. Thanks to both. The revolver? A birthday present for the wife. She loves it. It's replaced her Kel-Tec P32. She says it's lightweight, fits in the hand well, concealable and it has reasonable recoil even with +P loads. Going from a .32 ACP to .38 Spl she was a little concerned but finds the recoil very manageable. All in all a good buying experience and the result - a happy wife. :)

I had been wanting this 642 for some time, and finally ordered one. Needless to say I'm very pleased with it. Ordered in on Mon., and was shooting it that Fri. Ran 100 rounds through it the first day, and fell in love. I've always been a Ruger Man, but will probably be looking to puchase another S&W from BUD'S in the near future.

This pistol is awesome. shoots flawlessly, lightweight, great for conceal carry. My Mom wanted to trade me a Colt 38 detective special for it. The detective special is heavy and bulky and sucks for conceal carry compared to the S/W 642. I traded her....just because the Colt is worth more...but now I'm going to buy another S/W 642.

the S&W 642 is a nice quality, inexpensive conceal carry handgun, not intended to be a range shooter. Very lightweight and compact. would also make an excellent pocket gun.
