Customer Reviews for Chiappa Rhino 30DS Black 357 Magnum Revolver

This is a great little smoke wagon with a futuristic look. Ballistics are good from the 3" barrel with the bonus of comfortable concealment. I added a brown faux wood grip from Chiappa as I like the look better. The barrel rises very little when sorting as it fits from the bottom chamber of the cylinder. It is awesome to shoot, though you will probably have to adjust your grip since it does tap that bottom cartridge. 357 Mag never shoot so well from a shorter barrel. Thinking about getting a 5" barrel one next.

Initial review, first impressions. If I think of it, I will update after shooting.
I have not yet fired this gun.
I'm not a revolver guy, and I don't have a lot of experience.
That being said, so far I absolutely love this gun. It is comfortable, well sized, and very well made. The trigger, heavy to be sure, but smooth to me, and definitely not too heavy. Overall trigger quality feels much better compared to my PX4 storm and my Micro Desert Eagle. Those feel a bit more tight, with a lot of stacking at the end. The Rhino just feels smoother throughout.
Fit and function, everything is great and as it should be. The gun weighs almost exactly as much as a subcompact, so it should be fine for carry if I can find a decent holster.
Overall, this is an impressive, well-built, quality firearm. Pricey, to be sure, but worth it to have something unique and well-made.
Also, Bud's processing and shipping was SUPER fast. Order was placed on a Tuesday, I think I had it by Friday.
Great job all around!

I have had this revolver for over a year. I take it to the range to shoot and love that there is hardly any recoil. It is a little big to carry concealed so I bought the 2 inch to carry with me, but still so much fun to shoot. Barbara K

Nice firearm. I love the way it shoots, as the recoil is mitigated by the barrel being so low. Be careful of your fingers. With the cylinder sitting so low, it’s easy to get flash burn. My only complaint is the fact that it shoots dirty. Expect to give your hands a good cleaning after shooting this pistol. Also, check the sights when you get it home. Mine were off by a wide margin.

Very happy with the Chiappa rhino 30ds. As a senior the recoil is very friendly on my wrists which for a short barrel 357. Would definitely recommend it.

This is an interesting new take on how revolvers should operate. I love the way the recoil on this pistol works and the way that the cylinder is designed to fit nicely as a concealed weapon. The only complaint I have is regarding the fiber optics. They do not collect much light and in lower light scenarios, they are quite difficult to see. Otherwise, great gun would buy again.
