I purchased this Sig .40 caliber barrel to complement my Sig Sauer P226 chambered in .357 SIG. it is simple to change over since your .357 SIG magazines work flawlessly in both calibers as well as not needing to change out the standard recoil spring. I have as a cautionary measure marked several of my mags as .357 and several as .40 to cut down on the chance of loaded the wrong ammunition. You end up with two SIGs for the price of one basically.

I purchased this .40 S&W barrel to go with my Sig P226 in .357 Sig, in order to practice with less expensive ammo. Buds price was the best I found on the internet. Shipping was fast and affordable. The fit and finish of the barrel was just what you'd expect from Sig. I took my P226 to the range with only the .40 barrel installed, so the original spring and magazines. I was running Sellier & Bellot 180gr FMJ. I had multiple fail to feed issues with magazines loaded with 10 or more rounds. I had much better luck with 7 rounds or less. The .40 barrel was straight out of the box with no prep or lube. This gun has been flawless running all kinds of .357 Sig ammo. I'm disappointed that the.40 barrel didn't run like the original .357, but it's still useful for practice.

Your anyone looking for a replacement barrel or a change in caliber it's a great inexpensive way to do it. The only thing the ammo when chambering rounds it was getting jamed up not going in to battery but it just needed to be cycled a few time to break in and it runs perfect now I would recommend to buy this one if your looking. I couldn't be more happy with it. Hope this helps anyone looking to buy one

Ordered the Sig barrel conversion for my P226 Legion 357sig to 40 S&W.. Barrel appears to be OEM and in Sig packaging. Barrel interchanges easily and functions well. Allows for a somewhat less expensive practice time at the range over the 357 Sig. Shoots well but still getting use to new POA with it compared to 357 configuration. Time using this item has been somewhat limited but to date satisfied with the product and would purchase again.
