This has been a great shooting firearm. I bought it as soon as Bud's had them and I'm very glad I did. This rifle is super accurate, regular old Remington corelocks will print 3 shot groups touching each other at 100 yards off the bench. I never shot more than 3 shot groups because it has a hunting barrel and it is not as heavy as some other AR 10s. Never had any hiccups with this firearm and never needed more than 1 shot to down game. The carbon forearm helps keep the carry weight in the hunting rifle category. I love this rifle.

This was my first experience and what can I say other than Buds is as advertised. I placed my order for a DPMS Hunter GII on Monday 11/25 and had it in my hands by Friday 11/29 and in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a quality firearm look at Buds first.

I have not yet made it through the shoot 1 round, clean, shoot 1 round, clean process yet, but so far I and very happy with my purchase. I put a Nikon Monarch 5 scope on it and it was almost dead on without any adjustments.

I bought this because I've had a DPMS LR308 for several years. It is a good rifle, but it is a much larger platform than a standard AR. With a longer bull barrel it is also quite heavy. Once I got to do a side by side comparison with the new GII and saw how much more compact it is, I decided to make the switch. I sold my LR308 and bought the GII. No regrets. It's very accurate and functioning has been perfect. I much prefer the GII platform and I'm very glad I made the switch. I went with the GII Hunter model as I wanted a barrel length that would take advantage of the cartridge's ballistics. I'm very satisfied and have nor reservations in recommending the GII. A very nice rifle.

At first the rifle would only cycle federal fusion 180 grain. I put an adjustable gas block on it and drilled the gas port hole just a hair larger. Now the rifle shoots and cycles everything great. Will have to shoot more to test accuracy better.

Really nice solid rifle! It may be a while before I get an opportunity to put it through it's paces, but I have no reason to believe it won't shoot as good as it looks. Great job to BGS on another purchase!

Bud's offered the best price that I could find by over $100. When received, it was in perfect shape and the first time at the range it performed exactly as billed. The scope does need to be mounted on an off-setting set of rings due to the short rail, and while I am a left handed shooter I bought the right-handed model for future resale value. I was warned I might have an issue with ejected shell casings hitting my cheek and that did happen at first, but I adjusted my position and the issue went away.

This rifle is just simply bad to the bone! Very light compared to most AR10's out there. A very tight group shooting platform.... I have taken over 15 deer (Whitetail and Axis) over the last year. All were direct hits exactly where my Leupold scope was targeting. Great rifle for sure! I did thread the barrel for suppressor use.... and this lead to changes in some of a few of the components. Due to increase back pressure I had to install an adjustable gas block, a 10 ounce Heavy Buffer, chrome silicon buffer spring and ammo change to Winchester Deer Season XP 150 grain.... my 180 grain Ted Nugent ammo was too hot.I am using the ACC-762-SDN-6 for my suppressor. So if you want to shoot suppressed you will need to thread the barrel and possibly need to make changes like I did for cycling issues. I also upgraded the trigger to the CMC 3.5 pound flat trigger.... which definitely helps with accuracy. The stock trigger was good but I am not a fan of two stage triggers. The rifle is a great shooter.... very accurate, lighter than most other AR10 options. So after fairly decent use out on the ranch I have zero complaints on performance or reliability of this rifle. FYI - This is kind of a hybrid AR10.... it allows you shoot a .308 out of a smaller design platform compared to a normal AR10 (size and weight reduction).... but you can use a lot of AR15 parts on this vs. AR10 parts which helps with aftermarket parts selection. I thought that was pretty cool.

This is a great gun! The trigger is above average for an ar style weapon. Extremely accurate. I took it out of the box, cleaned the barrel, mounted a vortex 3-12x56 hog hunter scope using an Aero Precision extended ultralight mount. Federal GMMK 168g. Was right at and maybe a little under 1 MOA. I'm very pleased.

Dear DPMS, I've always wanted an AR-10 that works. I recently ordered your G2 Hunter 20" rifle which I picked up from my FFL on 6/24/16. I took it on a trip the following week. After drinking your G2 Kool-Aid I had high hopes and expectations for this rifle. I have never been more let down and disappointed by a supposed quality firearm before in my entire life. I field stripped, wiped down, lubed and checked function. I was quite impressed at first. Then to the range... This rifle began to choke on it's 3rd round down range and got worse from there. I tried two types of factory NATO M80 and even one type of 168gr hunting load. All had epic failures which I believe to be related to short stroking. I understand this rifle is marketed as a hunting rifle, however the barrel is stamped 7.62x51mm NOT .308 WIN. I therefore expect it to digest NATO ammo absent complaint. I'll spare you my self proclaimed gun nut speech but trust me when I say I have extensive experience with firearms. I did everything I could on my own to try to make this gun run. I cleaned it, lubed it and fed it quality hunting ammo. It still choked to death. When I field stripped the action I found damage to the firing pin and metal shavings from the firing pin inside the bolt as well as damage to the cotter pin. After cleaning thoroughly I reassembled and tried the hunting loads again. Once again it began to choke right away. I'm sorry but this gun is DICKED!!! I wish I could return it for a full refund and be done with it. I'll stick with my heavier less accurate FN FAL because at least it WORKS. If your gun had run for me I would be singing your praises as if I have 1 good thing to say about my experience with your rifle, it is very accurate. Hitting targets at 400 yards was so easy as to be ridiculous. If you can help me make this rifle reliable I would be a very grateful customer. Thank You Mr. Kevin Coggin P.S. The owners manual you sent with this G2 is for a standard 5.56 AR-15 and was ABSOLUTELY NO HELP AT ALL!!!

This is an amazing rifle shoots 1/2 in groups at 100 yards. Very good trigger compared to other Ar rifles I Have used. I have had no problems first 100 rounds fired. Thank you buds fast shiping and great price.

Loved the size and weight, did not like the accuracy. Best group was 3" with 168 grain Black hills match ammo. Sent back to Ahlman's, who is DPMS warranty repair shop. Been over 2 months and they say they are re-barreling as they couldn't get it to shoot either. The upper and lower fit was sloppy. Tried a JP pin to tighten, but tightening the fit, prevented bolt carrier being able to fully lock back due to binding in buffer tube. I wished I had bought a Rock River.

I got my G2 hunter in march, Buds had it to me with in a week, very nice, I have only put around 80 rounds through it and am all ready doing GREAT at 600 yards. I would say for the price you can`t beat this rifle. Thank you Buds, I tried to find this rifle at the gun dealers and sporting goods stores and could not find one. I will be coming back to Buds again. Thanks again.

First time ordering a gun online or dealing with buds and am overall pleased, they made it painless and easy. During the break in I found the gun seemed to be getting more accurate, dropping 3 and 4 shot groups into nice little cloverleafs with CHEAP BALL ammo. REALLY, I foresee holding onto this thing for a while. Had a once in a lifetime fluke problem with the dust cover. The hinge pin backed out into one of the holes in the barrel nut, it just happened to line up perfectly. Had to use a pair of tiny forcepts to work it back in place. I would recommend they place a C clip on the end of the hinge pin to avoid that happening. I think I will be taking it out and turning a groove on the end to fix that. Other than that fluke, I am VERY IMPRESSED with this gun, it took everything I fed it with a smile, never had any issues with failure to feed or extract even using the cheap steel cased stuff and the 3rd gen pmags worked wonderfully through roughly 120 rounds so far. On top of all this it was like a laser tagging everything that came into the cross hairs. If anyone is on the fence about getting one of these, hop off and click the order button. It is a smooth shooting, accurate, and light rifle to take out plinking or to bring home the bacon (or venison). P.S. No, I am not a salesman or have been asked or paid to rave about this thing, just plain loving it.

When loading the first round, it hung up halfway. I was able to pull the handle back and fully seat the round. Fired that shot and cleaned the barrel. Second round loaded correctly. Fired then attempted to put on safe and it would not. Cleaned the barrel then loaded another round. It would not fire so I separated the upper and lower. The hammer had broken in half apparently when firing the second round. I contacted DPMS and they immediately sent me a UPS label to return for warranty repair. It has only been a day, so I will update when I get the rifle back. I have other DPMS rifles and I am completely happy with them. I hope this was just an oops that got by Q&A. But, as it stands, I am not very satisfied with this particular rifle.

I bought this as a hog gun. And after having spent some time at the range, I can't wait to give it a go hunting. My initial reaction is that the rifle is simply amazing. This is not my first or even second AR style rifle I have had. It is, however, the best one I have had. That includes a nod over my M&P and Bushmaster Patrolman. This is the first one I have in .308 caliber. I expected it to be a little roudy in the recoil department in comparison to the 5.56 style AR's, but that was not the case. Very comfortable shooter. The accuracy is ridiculous. That surprised me (I was skeptical of the accuracy claims) even though it is touted as a sub MOA rifle at 100 yards. In my experience, ARs don't shoot as accurately as bolt action. I have to admit I believe it is as good as bolt action Tikka and Weatherby rifles I have shot. The trigger doesn't meet the Tikka or Weatherby standard, but it is very good for an AR. I like the two stages. With the barrel being a little longer than say a 16" AR, it feels heavy on that side of the gun, but overall, the weight is nice compared to a typical AR-10. Love the stock. Love how easy it breaks down. Bud's was excellent too. Simple transaction and very fast shipping. The pre-approved FFL transaction was equally as smooth.

This rifle is amazing. I love everything about it. It has the ar15 look and feel while maintaining a nice size and weight in a 308 caliber. I could easily carry this all day on a hunt with no issues. I took it out to the range the other day and all I can say is that im impressed. I went through the lengthly barrel break in process at the of cleaning the bore after every shot for the first 25 then after every 10 shots out to 100. The rifle seemed to get more accurate as the process went on and it was cake to break down and reassemble multiple times. Not a single FTF or FTE throughout the process and it ran flawlessly with a 10rd pmag. I had heard of problems with these g2 rifles and the gen3 pmags but this was not the case. It was very accurate out of the box. This is my first rifle and I was able to put shots in an 8 inch circle with iron sights at 100 yds consistently. Worth every penny!
