Was more impressed with this purchase than I expected, shot approximately 200 rounds through it and no jamb ups of any sort. For the price point it was well worth the investment..

It's an AR platform, it's a Ruger, it's milspec equipment. Solid build, good bolt w/ staked gas keys. Has fired everything from undergassed 77gr .223 to overgassed 55gr 5.56 with no problem. The barrel nut is proprietary, and also easy to work with. As modifiable as any AR-15, but pricey for what you get.

Ruger AR556 has turned out to be a great first AR15! After comparing the major manufacturer offerings, the Ruger was the best value for the money. It’s been a reliable rifle from the 1st day, running every steel case, brass, reload, 77-55 grain round I’ve fed it. At the time of purchase I was looking for a decent starter AR and the Ruger was my gateway. About 2k rounds since 2017 still runs and looks great, looking forward to many more years of fun.

Affordable, quality AR. Had to replace the handguard to accommodate tripod, but otherwise nice piece of equipment.

This is a great little AR. This one will shoot 1 moa right out of the box. I have this one set up for varmint control and it does the job well!

Had to send back to Ruger to have the the entire bolt carrier group fixed, was continuously jamming. After I got it back it hasn't done it once, and I love it!
