Love this Barkeep, the price is right and a darn fun .22 to play with. Buds shipped quickly.

I go to the range for two reasons, practice for personal protection, and have fun. When it comes to the fun part, there's nothing better than Heritage revolvers. I like smaller pistols, so I stick to the Barkeeps. The 2" is a great size, and a lot of fun. The time it takes to unload/reload seems to annoy some, but I like it. It makes for a zen-like experience. No rush, no pressure. I never go to the range without at least one of my Heritage revolvers in my bag, and often as not, it's one of my 2" Barkeeps.

This is an excellent little sixgun. Heritage offers much in the way of replacement grips, backstraps, cylinders and holsters for their products: I wound up getting the birdshead backstrap & grips, and an extra cylinder in .22 Magnum. Sadly, after the first few times firing my Barkeep, the action FROZE UP and the gun was unusable. I kind of figured, oh well, cheap handgun, whatchagonnado...but then realized that it was warranted for a year. I sent the gun back to Heritage and they repaired and returned it to me INCREDIBLY quickly...their customer service was SERIOUSLY excellent. Had the same experience when I ordered the backstrap, grips & extra cylinder from them. Five stars!

Mine came with a terrible finish on the barrel. Started to rust after just a couple weeks. Looks like it was painted with a spray can ! Just remember this is a gun that is very inexpensive. If you want a gun to throw in the truck or utility vehicle it will be fine. The heritage I bought several years ago from Buds had a much better finish.

Overall I like this firearm and purchased it for my wife to cancel carry. Some things I was disappointed with but for the price, I would expect this. Upon opening the box for the first time and checking it out I found it to be very stiff and the cylinder to be rough when cycling. The first thing I did when I got it back to my home was stripped it down and inspected all the parts for machine marks and rough edges and then bluff the areas that needed to be smoothed. ( it wasn't too bad but it did need some work) I also did a complete breakdown clean job and resampled the firearm. By doing this it improved the smoothness of the firearm by 100%. It now performs and feels as good as my more expensive firearms. I have not fired the gun as of yet. But I have high hopes it will perform as well as the manufacture claims. For the price point of this firearm, I am satisfied and feel it was a good purchase and I would again purchase it.

Very fun little plinker, Buds’s did their usual great job, it was at my FFL in two days.

The Barkeep is actually a Rough Rider styled & proportioned almost exactly like a Colt Sheriff i.e. short barrel with no ejector. It would be a pretty good rimfire replica if not for that unsightly switch Heritage puts on the left cylinder shield. This Georgia-built specimen seems to have a little better overall fit & finish than some Florida-built Rough Riders in the past. Should since it costs more for less there but I guess that applies to new gun models in general these days.
I do like the Barkeep's size. It's still an inexpensive plinker that for me has a better grip purchase than the Bird Head RR (I have one of those in 3.5") but overall about as compact and it just looks cool. Myself I like the black frame finish more than the psuedo-case hardened but whichever one you like I can definitely recommend having the Barkeep on your side for your next encounter with a gang of outlaw soda bottles.

Immediately fell in love with this pistol but thought it could be even better with a bird's head grip, so that is what I did. Ordered the grip frame from Heritage, and the grips off Amazon. I think it turned out very nice.
