To start off I was a little skeptical of this revolver but the reviews were pretty good and I like Cimarron products so I decided to purchase one. I am very pleased with this pistol and have fire a couple hundred rounds through it with no issues what so ever! I purchased it through Buds and was very pleased with their service and fast shipping! I feel this pistol is a good buy!!

Well this gun seems to be having a bit of an identity crisis. It came in a descent Cimarron Plinkerton cardboard box with a nice old-style photo. It came with a barrel brush and even a Bud's sticker. It also came with an instruction manual for a Chiappa Firearms SAA 1873 .22LR single six. Plinkerton is clearly stamped on the side of the barrel, but sure enough the CF logo is stamped on the frame right next to "Made In Italy". To top it off, the grips have the same CF Chiappa logo on them, and not the Cimarron horse and rider logo that is plainly shown in the photo, which I know is only a "representation". Phooey. This is a Chiappa SAA 1873 old time model with Plinkerton stamped on the side of the barrel. I was unable to find any way to register it on the Cimarron website. I went to the Chiappa site and successfully registered my new product. The Cimarron I bought is about $40-$50 bucks higher than the Chiappa I got. This appears to be a bait and switch from an overseas company with more than one brand under it's belt. The models are virtually identical. This has nothing to with Bud's, but I will let them know. Perhaps they will have enough influence to get chiappa to at least send me a set of cimarron grips to help even things up.
Having said all of that, the cylinder turns easily and the action seems to be fine as long as it's timed right. I just opened it and have not yet fired the gun. If it shoots like it should and is on target, and doesn't break just sitting in my safe, then I guess I wanted a cheap 22LR single action and I got one. I chose not to spend $125 on a new Chiappa for a reason. So much for that. I bought a Ruger Wrangler Silver Cerekote model and just love it. It was only $10 more than I paid for the plinkerton. If you want to shoot on a budget, just go with the Chiappa or Heritage to start with and save your money. If I had it to do over again I would just not buy this gun. Hope it shoots.

This was an impulse buy, pure and simple. It works fine, but the quality is reflected by the price. Not bad for what I paid for it, so no complaints there. It went bang when I pulled the trigger, but I really haven't had the desire to pull it out of the safe to shoot it again. I probably would have gone with another option if I had the chance to purchase again.

For the money, this has to be the best deal going on Bud's web site. I read mixed reviews about the pistols and decided to take a chance buying two, for my sons. The pistols action is smooth and it is sited in rather well (fixed site is the only bummer). It fired every type of .22 LR we loaded into it; CCI mini mags, CCI standard velocity, Blazer, Remington Goldens & Thunderbolts, and Federal Match. Each pistol has had over three hundred rounds put through it without a single mis-fire. My only complaint is that there is a very slight amount of chipping occurring on the pistol cylinders, possibly from the hammer striking too hard. An issue, I will be taking up with Cimarron. The grip, for being plastic is actually a rather good one, and the weight of the handgun, will remind you of a .45 single action. The result of the weight is virtually no recoil. The finish is decent and provides an overall sharp looking little hand gun. I'm happy with the performance and my sons' both love theirs.
