The Remington 870 is a tried and true shotgun. I have had to qualify with it in law enforcement for the past 37 years without a single failure. It has proven itself in both local and federal law enforcement for decades and makes an excellent home defense weapon especially when loaded with double 00 buck. Easy to operate and maintain there are also many aftermarket upgrades available that won't break the bank.

This newer version of the 870 is probably the favorite of all the 870s I have owned. It has a larger magazine capacity without the need for the separate magazine tube extension, comes complete with a very nice looking black blued finish and a Remington Supercell recoil pad installed which makes target shooting far more tolerable.

This Rem 870 Tactical is a great home defense shotgun. It's the second one I bought from Bud's Gun Shop. Loved the first one so much, I bought a second so I can gift them to my two sons. Very competitive price and quick delivery to my FFL. Very pleased.

Excellent shotgun! It's a reliable, tried and true design with a smooth action. I like the magazine tube capacity. Tons of aftermarket compatibility due to the storied history of this shotgun. Hard to beat a shotgun for home defense!

Purchased this 870 from buds on layaway and could not be more happy with my purchase took it out and shot it the day I received and works great . Smooth pump action a good looking tactical shot gun I've seen some not so great reviews but I love it thanks buds.

Buds did a quick good job of shipping but that is everytime I order from them. The 870 I got is great, good build quality, and I already tested it with boxes of buckshot. Action was nice, much better than one I had in 2013. I am very please and its a keeper!

I had never fired an 870 before I bought this one. Like most of you, I had heard the tales or Remington slipping over the years in quality and everyone just uses the Mossberg 500 series anyway. So I owned a 500… truth be told I owned two, and never gave the 870 much thought. But then I wanted one; no particular reason, I just felt old-school one day. If I had known years ago what I know now, I would have bought a dozen of these! What a fantastic shotgun - smooth, reliable, easy-shooting, dead-on accurate, tight-grouping, and a bargain on top of all of it. Is it perfect? No, and we will get in to that. But for what it is, I think I may prefer the 870 over nearly 20 years of 500 ownership. Oh what a fool I’ve been… So the pros… it is a 500 but more refined. The action is butter smooth and was a drastic difference compared to the chunky rack of the Mossberg. It fed and ate everything, and I threw 15 year old less-than-lethal rounds that were rusty into this thing without a hiccup. It pointed intuitively, the big ol bead up front was super easy to pick up, and the factory stock has the best recoil pad I have ever used. Field stripping was crazy easy and I always had a hard time with the ejector arms in the 500 not being just right for reassembly - no such problem here. There is a kind of two-step rack to the bolt that shifts and unlocks the extractor first before the bolt travels back. This takes away a lot of the fight you feel in the 500 since all of that force has to come from your racking arm. And again, a perfect fist-sized hole at 5 yards like you took a hole-saw to the target. The cons… you can easily outrun this gun. The action is so smooth, a few times I pull-racked faster than the spent shell could eject. This is an obvious problem that gets fixed with training but it was jarring the first few times. The fore-end is a little short for my taste and the stock lacks aggressive stippling to get a really firm hold. But that is it, no other complaints at all. The 870 is my high school miss - that girl that you never noticed when you were young but came back into your life in your 30s and made you do a double-take. Hands down, this is the best pump shotgun I have ever known and I highly recommend it. I will stop short of saying Remington is fully back, but maybe this 1950s beater never really left.

This is a great shotgun! It truly lives up to the legend. I have mine for home defense. Very versatile gun that can be customized in many ways. Upgrades that I added; Trijicon Ghost Ring Night Sights, G&G low drag magazine follower, Surefire forend and Volquartsen extractor.

Ordered this Shotgun from Bud's and received it quickly, as usual. Bud's always gets their items shipped out fast. Thanks Bud's. As for the shotgun it is a POS. Went to the range and immediately began to have issues with it . I would not feed shells from the mag tube. The left action bar was not depressing the left shell latch to release shells from the mag tube. Essentially it has a 6 1 ammo capacity but functions as a single shot. Been attempting to get it fixed but Remarms has not gotten back to me after submitting a repair request online and they do not answer their phone at all. Will never purchase another Remarms product.
