very nice CCW revolver

This gun was purchased to use for personal protection since it is light and uncomplicated, The workmanship on this gun as with everything from Smith and Wesson is excellent. I decided to purchase a 38 special revolver as a home defense gun that both my wife and i could control and shoot safely in our later years when our had strength begins to diminish. This one really seems to fit that niche nicely. The only issue we had is that the pistol comes with an over 8 pound trigger pull and this was too much for my wife to use. Our gunsmith was able to adjust this down a few pounds and now the pistol is really perfect. This gun fits smaller hands well and has mild recoil. It is simple to load and shoot and is very well made.

Great revolver and I love the feel of the gun.

Purchased this for my wife and everything about it feels just like a Smith & Wesson wheel gun. The wife Loves it and it gives her an assured protective layer. Beautiful wood grips, lightweight aluminum frame, and the crisp pull of an S&W trigger. A nice .38 stubbie!!

I do not like shooting this gun. I shoot alot and this gun sucks to shoot. Way too light weight to shoot any round comfortably. Looks pretty though, so put it in your pocket and never shoot it. I wish I would've bought something else.

Absolutely beautiful little gun. HEAVY, HEA-VEEY trigger. Took it to my gunsmith for a trigger-job. Now it's perfect and my wife LOVES carrying it.

This was intended to be a carry piece and for that it works well. The lightweight and tight package make it hardly noticeable. However we have to recommend that you save yourself the extra money and buy without the wooden grips if you intend to shoot this gun. If you are buying to simply display or put in the safe and never use then this is a really nice gun for the money. However when using it the recoil hits your hand in such a manner it feels like you are getting smacked in the wrist bone each time. We reluctantly removed the beautiful wood grips and put on a Hogue grip and now this thing is a nice shooter. It is now painless to shoot. P Starfires do not recoil any worse than regular rounds with the Houge grip. Overall it is a nice shooter, just not with those hard and short wooden grips.

My first purchase from Bud's....and a pleasant one!! This was the perfect choice for my wife's first self-defense handgun. With no hammer - double action only teaches trigger control automatically. Fit and finish are perfect on this revolver. Smith & Wesson's Lady Smith is dead on point accurate and recoil is minimal with 125 grain loads. This firearm was almost $100 cheaper than the lowest price I found ANYWHERE :)

Gun arrived about a week after order and was in perfect condition and looked better than I imagined. After reading the other review I was a little worried about ordering for my wife After my wife had shot the gun 15 times she had to take a break and after 50 shots it bruised the area between her thumb and hand. I shot the gun also and with the slick wood handle it will move around in your hand when fired. But figure I would put rubber grips on in the future for practice and replace wood after. The gun looks very cool and she likes the look. ANd it is a very accurate gun for its size. I will definitely be buying more guns from Buds.

BOUGHT ONE FOR MY WIFE FOR CHRISTMAS. SHE IS AN EXCELLANT SHOT AND HAS SHOT NUMEROUS TIMES WILL SEVERAL 38'S. HER EYES WERE WATERY AFTER SHOOTING THIS WEAPON FIVE SHOTS. I SHOT IT AND WAS SICK. THE BEAUTIFUL GRIPS WILL "EAT" YOUR HAND. IT IS THE MOST HURTING GUN I HAVE EVER FIRED. I REPLACED THE PRETTY GRIPS WITH A PAIR OF HOGUE GRIPS AND IT WAS LIKE NIGHT AND DAY. VERY EASY AND COMFORTABLE TO FIRE WITH THE HOGUE GRIPS. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PURCHASE THE AIRWEIGHT VERSION WITH THE RUBBER TYPE GRIPS FOR $100 LESS AND EVEN THEN I MIGHT WOULD REPLACE THE FACTORY GRIPS. BEAUTIFUL WEAPON BUT USELESS WITH THE BEAUTIFUL FACTORY GRIPS UNLESS YOU ENJOY PAIN.
