The Springfield Armory M1A is a lighter weight alternative to .308 AR10's and provides excellent accuracy. I found it to be extremely rugged and reliable and it preformed without any malfunctions. The only downside that I've found is with the ergonomics. The large reciprocating charging handle that extends forward of the ejection port forces the shooter to extend their support hand to an extreme degree in order to properly grasp the firearm or simply cup it from the bottom closer to the magazine. The shooter also has to watch for the forward picatinny rail as it is fastented directly to the barrel and will get hotter than the sun after a few mags of shooting. I wish they had found another way to fix the rail on top. A for smooth and manageable recoil but I never quite got comfortable with the ergonomics. It's a great stationary shooter and would do well as a hunting rifle with the right optic. Would give it 5 stars if not for the quirky ergos.

I wanted an M1A forever, when I first saw the stars and stripes version I knew I had to have it. It was worth waiting for, and everyone that sees it want one too. Thanks Buds!
