I love this rifle, the size, weight, handling and especially the look. It seems to like steel cased ammo much better than brass, brass 7.62 shoots much better than .308. I know it's because I get cheap brass .308. It's a tack driver with iron sights at 250m, maybe an optic is in her future.

I love this shorter version of the M-14. It is easy to handle, accurate, and with the scope mount that came with it, makes long range shooting a breeze. Springfield is high quality. I have had no issues with this rifle. I would recommend it to anyone who is into shooting sports or self defense.

This M1A is a very sweet shooter! Always dreamed of owning an M1 style rifle and this one is awesome! Easy take down! A design that hasnt changed to much since the M1 Garand America's former battle rifle!

Love it. Bought it last week before it sold out, and picked it up from local FFL. I bought bipod for it, disassembled, oiled and greased it in right places and took it to local inside range. I also bought extra SA 20, 10, and 5 round mags and using Hornady, Remington and American Eagle Ammo, it performed perfect firing 100 rounds. Very happy with it.

This is an excellent rifle, it is everything that I expect from a Springfield, strong reliable and pleasing to the eye. The scout squad with the flag stock gets lots of looks and comments at the range. If you are in the market for a 30 caliber semi auto look no farther, this is the ticket. I have AK's, AR's and others and there is no comparison this is the real deal. Buds Guns is the very best I have ever dealt with, Fast, Friendly, Reliable service you can do no better.

Wow. Absolutely incredible. This rifle shoots like cupid's arrow on Valentines Day: accurate and like a charm. Maybe I did not read it correctly because I didn't know, but this rifle comes with a case specifically for it. It's a decent case. This rifle has a padded butt stock instead of a hallowed out one for storage for cleaning supplies like most of the M1A's do. I could not find a better deal on these rifles than what Bud's Guns was offering. The cheapest one USED locally I could find was over $1,400. I am so happy.

Rifle shoots great. Put a vortex 2-7 scout scope on it for $150.
It shoots most ball ammo around 2-3 moa and a few types around 1.5-2 moa.
Hornady 150gr interlocks are around 1.5 moa and hornady black 155gr a-max shot right at 1 moa.
Excellent rifle. Light, accurate and handy enough to do some hunting with!

I wanted this to be a good review, I really did. But I've had nothing but a bad experience with this firearm. I purchased it on a Sunday, and it was delivered Tuesday (Fast shipping, that was great!) I took it out to fire it that same day. Long story short -- This gun misfired 70% of the time. Out of 20 loaded rounds, I managed to fire about 6 rounds. It was misfire after misfire, no matter how many I chambered or rechambered. There wasn't even strikes on the primer of the rounds. It's as if the firing pin was short, or sticking. All the same ammo fired flawless after in a Remington 700. I contacted Springfield and they were baffled, so they requested I send it back to them. The waiting period for them to inspect and repair is about a month. After contacting them almost two weeks later, no improvement. Issue not resolved and they do not have any information as to what's wrong. Why wouldn't they just send me another new one? I can not recommend this gun currently.

Been watching for months for a good price on a Springfield M1A scout squad. Found one at Buds gun shop and ordered on line. The process was smooth as glass from purchase to delivery to my FFL gun shop in Colorado. The rifle arrived within a reasonable amount of time and was flawless. The price was $1199.00 with rifle, one 5 rd mag and nice soft case. My local gun stores couldn't even come close to Bud's price. It looks awesome! I had to tell my friend that the price from Budsgunshop is the lowest. I bought the green /brown and he bought the black/white. I am true repeat buyer from buds. After many years of telling myself I would get an M1A Scout Squad, I finally decided the deal on this one was to good to pass up, especially with the flag stock. I ordered from Buds on Saturday and picked up the rifle from my local FFL on Wednesday. After taking it the range I could not be happier. I have only ever shot an M1A once before and its been 10+ years ago. Out of the box with about 200 rounds through it so far and I have had zero issues or malfunctions. I followed the manual for the zero instructions and it put it on 6" steel target at 100 yards first attempt. I adjusted the elevation according to to the manual for 400 yards and started hitting the steel target at 400 yards with no issues. All with the stock iron sights and wolf 145gr FMJ ammo. I could not be happier with this rifle. It shoots like a dream and the flag stock looks amazing. The only minor complaint I have is the 10 round mag that came with the rifle is extremely tight fitting and is hard to pull out of the rifle. The 20 round mags I bought fit perfectly. If you have ever wanted an M1A and have been on the fence on getting one, I promise you will not be disappointed with this rifle.
