I own several Dan Wesson pistols, full size 1911's in 10MM but this is the first Commander size in .45ACP. With Dan Wesson's, I feel you get a custom gun at below custom pricing. The Vigil Commander has a great trigger- a little over 4 lbs. with a real clean break. Accuracy was superb right out of the box w/o any break-in. The front sight is a large white dot which grabs your eye right away. Slide to frame fit is tight with no wobble. The exterior is a satin black and with the wood grips, looks great. The trigger is skeletonized. A great pistol-well worth the price. If I wanted to nit-pick, the mainspring housing is plastic, not metal, though this seems to be very common, even with more expensive pistols. But when you're talking pistols over $1K, come on. That being said, no regrets on my part.
