These are easily my favorite slugs to use in my smoothbore barrel. They aren't exactly reduced recoil but aren't overwhelmingly powerful. I can't vouch for their effectiveness in a home defense situation but if you are looking for a slug that is fun to shoot without bruising you horribly, this is it.
