Keeps the snakes away and if one accidentally hits your dog, it doesn’t hurt him. He’ll have his feeling hurt at you for a while though.

This round is perfect for snakes. I use them in a revolver. I think you will have trouble ejecting rounds out of a semi auto.

Bought these because they were available. I hunt in an area with a fair concentration of venomous snakes and thought they might come in handy. After a few test shot rounds from my Sig P322, I learned that these rounds are not powerful enough to cycle the semiautomatic action. So they are probably better suited for use with a garden gun (smooth-bore .22) or a bolt action. At 10 feet from my pistol, the pattern was too widely dispersed to be of any threat. It would probably tick off any living intended target more than damage it. This is probably due to the rifling. Bottom line is that if you need an effective snake shot for a pistol - use a larger caliber.

I thought I would try this ammo on some snakes. Yep their heads are gone.

Used them on rats. You have to be close to do any good.

I keep this ‘rat shot’ in my Heritage revolver when doing yard work—it’s a simple way to address any venomous snakes I may encounter while working outside. I do NOT for the life of me understand the YT trend of self proclaimed ‘experts’ demonstrating how poorly this round performs in a rifle at distance…use it as intended and it definitely is effective in my opinion.
