I got this for my daughter to shoot trap on her high school team, nice gun, low recoil she enjoyed shooting a couple hundred rounds on weekends with no sore shoulder

I have been an 1100 fan since I was a teenager shooting competitive trap. Great guns. The 1100 Competition has been good so far, although the comb of the stock is a little narrow. This should be fixable with a pad. It is reliable and well built, easy to fix when it does go wrong. I would purchase again, especially since I think it will be a collector's item in the future.

It's been a great gun found out trigger pull is a little bit shorter than I need. My daughter and a friend have enjoyed using it. Thanks.

This is about as good as it gets for a reasonably priced professional grade trap gun. Usual Remington quality and reliability.

Great shotgun. Shot fantastic right out of the box. Very light felt recoil.

Happy with this gun. It’s my first actual target gun. Finish on metal is nice. Faux carbon fiber is different than expected, makes it look quite unique.
Shoots very soft with medium springs installed using 2 3/4 dr 1 1/8oz loads (with steel base). Had several stovepipes, would recommend brass-based and/or 3dr loads. My son’s 1100 has same issue, brass 3dr only for reliable cycling. And yes, I keep my guns clean and lubed properly. Stock-to-receiver fit is not perfect but hey, I bought it to shoot, not caress and criticize.
For the money, I feel it’s a good value. The adjustable stock is one of the main reasons I went with this gun. I can lower the butt plate and adjust the comb to get a good fit. Feel like I could shoot it all day with no soreness. I’m thin and got tired of my cz beating me up after 75-100 rounds.
Buds was excellent as always, I used the ach transfer option which worked smoothly. Will be back for next gun!

Bud's was great as usual. The Remington 1100 Competition is Ok but for interested purchasers: 1) The LOP is not adjustable. 2) The butt pad is adjustable linearly up and down OR rotated but not left or right and the Pad needs to be removed to adjust. 3) The LOP is actually longer than any other 1100. 4) The Comb comes at full height so for longer necked or females it may not have sufficient travel. Speedbump Stockworks sells a 1/2" direct fit Kickeez pad for a shorter LP. 5) Mine has a sticky extractor which needed work to function. 6) The muzzle is not square to the bore so the chokes do not stay tight and loosen every couple of shots. Other than that the trigger is good and I like the profile of the rib. Mine came in at just over 9 pounds but it does not feel that heavy since some is in the stock. Would I recommend it? Maybe, but I am not sure it is a real value proposition.

great gun recoil is like a .410 just wish they made the pro bore barrel in 28 inch

I tried out many highly regarded guns before trying the 1100 Competition model. It is a better shooter than every one of the others that I tried, regardless of price. It is a very high quality build using first-rate materials. The technology is proven over decades of use and it performs flawlessly.

I have shot 1100s all my life (~50 yrs.) and this gun shoots better than anything I own. The Probore barrel and Briley chokes are great. I shot an entire sporting clay course with skeet choke and literally crushed all the targets I hit. My score has gone up since I started using this gun. It has almost no recoil! It's a keeper!

I purchased this Remington 1100 Comp shotgun about two weeks ago. It is a beautiful gun! I cleaned it thoroughly and finally get to function and pattern test it today. It functioned perfectly with both Federal target loads and Winchester Universal target loads (both 1 1/8oz 8 shot). I was somewhat surprised that if cycled the Winchester loads because they have been problematic in some other semi-autos due to the low recoil. But - they worked fine. The pattern test at 30 yards using the supplied light Mod choke convinced me to use that for my next trap shoot. I love this gun! Buds has always been exception as well. I am a repeat customer and have always been satisfied!

This shotgun is an excellent solution to the recoil sensitive competitor. The recoil system works as advertised. I took me a little time to pattern the gun, but it was worth the trouble. I was crushing Skeet to dust. Buds has excellent customer service. The gun arrived two days after it was ordered.

I have been shooting skeet for about two years now. I have had several high name over and unders and several Italian autoloaders. The first time I shot a 1100 or automatically liked it. Some people say that 1100s only fit certain individuals… Well they certainly fit me. I have a 20 gauge sporting and I just purchased this 12 gauge competition. This gun truly has an almost nonexistent recoil and fits me perfectly. I love the adjustable comb. I am very happy with this gun and with buds .

Gun arrived quickly from their other store. Great service when i went to pick it up. Gun is a remington 1100 comp 12 ga, that we got for my wife to shoot trap with. It is very, very soft shooting and highly accurate. So far shoots all shells well down to 1 1/8. Using 1 ounce shells caused it to jam up upon ejection, maybe due to not being broken in fully yet. Possibly just the brand i tried. Have only had it out once, so i havent got to experiment with it a whole lot. Very pleased (and surprised) at how well it shoots for such a low price gun.

Got this for 5-stand and trap. I only put a box through mine (23/25) so far and will need to adjust the stock. My head is way too far down into the gun. Should be no problem to adjust as it's completely adjustable. This gun in front heavy. That's not totally a bad thing as it will keep you from swinging too far through the bird. Ran Fiocci shooting dynamics 1250 no problem. The gun definitely pops visually and draws attention. I caught a couple guys eying it up on the rack at me club. I've bought a few guns from Buds and have been happy each time. No complaints about Buds at all.

Being a NSCA competitive clay shooter I'm surrounded by premium shotguns 5-15K, not unusual at all. I bought this gun because my 2 primary guns were in the shop. I've run 8 boxes of shells through it, cycled all the time. As an experiment I ran a box of xtra light shells 1oz at 1180, only 4 non-cycles out of 25. Very exceptable as well as expected. Pro-bore chokes crushes targets, IC 60-70 yard birds. The gun is heavy, but its all in the barrel. Between the weight and the bumper, recoil is almost non-existent. Love the adjustable comb and heel drop...nice features. Bottom line, at a grand its a no brainier. Great starter gun for the any new clay shooter and a back up to the seasoned shooter. Next test: NSCA multi event shoot 100 birds per hour or so for 3 or so hours. Unlike my Italian or German guns, especially O/Us I can have a full inventory of parts on hand to keep the gun running. So far...4 1/2 stars.

Great shotgun. I got 4 weeks ago and put 1000 rounds through it without any hiccups. With ear protection on, you will not be able to know the gun has been fired. The recoil is absent. I have never felt a shotgun like this before. It is a combo of being 9lbs and the tried and true Remington gas system. This gun is an all around clay games gun. I use it for trap and skeet. The briley choke set is prolly $200 by itself. My only gripe is that the silver colored receiver gets dirty from gun shot debris after periods of shooting. Other than that, the adjustable comb and butt plate make this gun a high quality high value shotgun that will lat you years.

I have always liked Remingtons and this was no disappointment. Just got back into trap shooting and wanted a semi auto to try sporting clays and skeet. I first saw this shotgun on vender's row at the Cardinal Center in Ohio. I was drawn to this firearm because of it's cool nickel and carbon fiber looks and the reviews. Now all I need to do is shoot as well as this shotgun does. This was my first purchase from Bud's and was very pleased.

Extremely well built. Heavy but the weight and the recoil reduction system in stock make this shotgun have very little perceived recoil. The synthetic stock actually feels good and is attractive. Barrel is overbored (Probore) and the forcing cones really elongated quite a ways. The 5 Briley extended chokes are 1st class. I added a 1/4" shim for LOP and that is easy to do. The gun swings easily and the weight helps with smooth follow through. My gun is a flat shooter even with the comb raised so I am working on that to get the gun to shoot higher for trapshooting. There are a couple shell catchers and I have tried both; they work most of the time. This is a lot of gun for the money. It costs @2/3 of competitive semi's from other companies. It appears to be a gun that can shoot many thousands of rounds in its lifetime with only cleaning, lubrication and an occasional cheap O ring change.

Received my shotgun noticeably perfect until I used it. The first 100 rounds thru it had a few FTF. Upon taking it home to clean I disassembled it and noticed the forend stabilizer part #48 almost broke and the heel of the magazine roughed up. What happened was the forend stabilizer was slamming against the heel upon firing. I took it to a friend who knows much about gunsmithing and he made the repairs necessary which was refinishing the heel of the magazine and replacing the stabilizer. Since, I have put at least 400 rounds thru it without any malfunction! and by the way this shotgun weighs 9lb. 2 oz. not 8.1 as advertised by Remington. Easy to setup and easy on the shoulder just heavy but a lot of gun for the money! I do recommend this gun even though it had its faults.

I shoot trap & skeet. I have had total shoulder joint replacement. I own Beretta A400 & Browning 625 but have trouble with adjustments and recoil. I purchased this Remington and I shoot a lot better. Because of adjustments and recoil springs. I shoot better now then ever.
