The Cimarron 1858 Navy is well fitted and quite historically correct. All in all, a fine replica of the real deal. Bud's provided a good price, and shipped timely and well. Can't ask for much more than that.

This is a well enginered black powder pistol that is a blast to have on the range. It gets everyones attention when it comes out to play.

Quality, fit and finish is excellent. Wood to metal is incredible. Bluing is great. I was also amazed that I could run my finger across the brass trigger guard to the frame and could not feel it. Lockup is very tight with no wiggle. Timing seems very good with no marks left on the cylinder as of yet. Trigger and action is very smooth with a crisp trigger pull of around 4 plus pounds (my guess, not measured). Cylinder removal is easy but getting it back in because it is so tight is a little more difficult. The trigger guard however was not fully polished. Tool marks are very visible. Cimarron is known for accuracy of appearance. Is this the way they were made back then I don't know. A little 0000 steel wool will finish it up nicely. I haven't fired it as of yet, but I expect it will be on par with any ball and cap pistol. A great pistol.
