I've had this gun a couple of years, but have not shot it a lot. Primarily a home defense firearm. Whenever I have shot it, it worked flawlessly. For home defense, I personally feel 20 gauge is plenty. It will mess up the target at home defense distances. (By the way, it is silly to give it a poor rating because you don't have ammo for it. Jeez, really?)

I bought this for my wife on her 40th birthday. This is an awesome gun for beginners.

It's a Mossberg. Perfect home defense option for my wife. Bud's made painless to purchase and shop to a dealer near. Thank you.

Nice look and feel ,I like the sight . My first time out I tried shooting 7/8 ounce target loads .The first 50 rounds gun would not cycle at all.By the end of 100 rounds I could sometimes get it cycle 2 or maybe 3.My inspection of gun before my first time out was good.Gun was clean no heavy grease etc. I did use a little oil because action was really tight I felt. After first time out I did complete disassemble and clean.Everything looked pretty good and still feels nice and TIGHT. Second time out I picked up 2 boxes of 1oz game loads and grabbed 2 more boxes out of my case that I tried the first time. The 1oz loads worked much better and by the time I got to the 7/8 oz loads they were working better also. I still cant depend on it to cycle 100 percent of the time but its gotten much better . Probably 80 percent of the time. I bought a case of 1 oz heavy loads .The action still feels really tight in my opinion .I do like this shotgun , Im gonna clean it up again , take my case of 1oz loads out and give it hell to loosen things up and repeat as needed until Im confident in 100 percent cycle

Great service from Bud's. I decided to trade in my Remington semi-auto 12 gauge as I have rotator cuff problems at age 76. I opted for a Mossberg 20 gauge semi-auto tactical for home defense. All went well and I picked up the Mossberg at my FFL, and it is a beauty. Later on the computer I discovered Bud's had reduced the price by $20. I looked into the Norton guarantee to refund any price reduction during a 30 day period. Norton wanted a screen shot of the reduced price prior to refunding the cost difference. When I attempted to do this, Bud's had changed the price back to what they charged me. Norton said they couldn't help me without the screen shot, but they would accept an email from Bud's stating the price reduction and increase. I called and emailed Bud's and they took care of it and sent me an email that Norton would send a check ASAP. Within 3 days I received a check for the $20 price difference. Great job Bud's!

Great shotgun from Mossberg, fantastic service from Buds (as usual). Two things: 1) Make sure you clean this before you take it to the range the first time. Mine came packed with grease to prevent rust and buildup in transit. 2) Make sure you're using the correct ammo. It needs 15/16th oz shells to cycle properly. I opted for 1oz AA shells and haven't had any problems since cleaning and oiling. Definitely a good alternative to a 12GA in terms of home defense and plain old shotgun fun.

I am extremely satisfied with my purchase from Bud's. I shopped around to find the Mossberg SA-20 locally, but had no success. Bud's Guns made my purchase extremely easy. The initial online chat was very helpful, as well as FAQ's, which led to my decision to place an order. While online ordering was an option, I elected to place my order direct. The customer service associate who assisted with placing my order was great. The shotgun arrived at my local FFL dealer on time, and in factory new condition exactly as promised. I would gladly recommend Bud's to my friends.

Just received my Mossberg SA-20 Tactical and my first impression is...WOW! This thing is a beauty. Weight is great. Comes to the shoulder easily and on point. Ghost ring sight and front sight are excellent! Am questioning the need for rail mounted sight now, but will be adding a light to the mag cap rail unless I add a mag extension, which I am again questioning the need of. Tight as a drum...I can't make it rattle no matter what I do! Pistol grip is very comfortable and the grip is secure. Forend checkering gives one a confident grip, despite some of the complaints I've read about it being a little slick. Not true. Charging handle is oversized and secure. Safety and bolt release work perfectly. Bought this gun because I destroyed my shoulder playing sports, and can no longer handle the punch from even semi auto12's, so am anxiously awaiting my first trip to the range, and will post that when accomplished. Have a Limbsaver, just in case, because my shoulder is really a mess. As usual, dealing with Bud's was a piece of cake. Seventh purchase from them, and NEVER a hiccup!

Bud's handling of the transaction was great. The shotgun arrive perfect and wrapped in the blue protective plastic inside the box. Yes, this shotgun is made in Turkey but it seem extremely well made. I cannot find anything that is loose or not finished well. It seem to be made much better than my friend's 20 gauge Mossberg pump that was made in the US and seemed very loose. The shotgun comes with a plug limiting the capacity to 2 rounds that must be removed. I have no idea why mossberg installed this in a "tactical" shotgun but you need to remove it before shooting it. It is easy if you follow the manual. I cleaned the shotgun thoroughly before I shot it. It came with clean oil on the inside and was not packed with a lot of grease. The manual that it comes with is disappointing. It is the same manual for the SA-20 hunting guns so the illustrations do not look like this gun. There are many common parts but they are not the same gun. Mossberg should have made a manual for these models. Field strip is more complex than a pump but is not too bad. I am not going to add anything to this gun except a light, a sling and a limbsaver. It does not come with any real recoil pad. It it not a really hard recoiling gun but a limbsaver will help due to this shotgun's weight. It is incredibly light and easy to maneuver. The ghost ring sights are excellent and were dead on at 15 yards. The front sight is easy to pick up in the pitch dark when you have a light turned on. I mounted an inforce 500 lumen on the tri-rail and it looks great. I was going to add a mag tube extension to it but I have changed my mind. It seems to be perfect the way it is. I don't want to worry about reliability. This will be my primary home defense weapon. If you can't stop a threat with 6 rounds of buckshot, you are a terrible shot or it may be that your time on earth is up. My first range trip was perfect with no hiccups. I was shooting Remington #3 buckshot (about 60 rounds) and function was perfect. You can put a lot of lead downrange quickly. The muzzle does have some rise but the front sight is easy to pick up and followups are fast. I never had a ghost ring on a shotgun but now I am sold on this feature and find it superior to a bead. The trigger is great for a shotgun. The safety is in a perfect location with the pistol grip stock and is easy to find. It is stiff but will loosen over time. This is not a wimpy gun for those who are wondering. If you can shoot a 12 gauge well, I guarantee you can shoot this 20 gauge better. I would not hesitate to recommend this to shotgun to anyone as a home defense weapon, hunting weapon or as shtf weapon. You can hunt all kinds of game with it if you have buckshot and birdshot on hand. After firing this gun, I think the only reason to get a 12 gauge is if you are in an area with large predators ( bears ) or if you just want a 12 gauge because ammo is more universal If you on the fence on this shotgun, pull the trigger and get it.

They fixed almost every minor complaint. The 75781 is now the 76780 AGAIN. They now ship with the Tri-rail. Apparently the import restriction has been solved. Also the loading issue is no longer and issue. No button pushing to get in the last shell. Bought this for my wife and she wanted to learn to shoot and has never fired a gun in her life. Got her some training with an instructor that took her through the various weapons and let her fire each a few times, She LOVED the shotgun? She put about 40 rounds through this at the range with no ill effects. Only issue still present is the cycling on weak ammo. Tried Winchester 1165fps and it will not cycle (yes it is 1oz). Had to use some 30 year old stuff I had and two boxes of 1220fps Estate High velocity that I bought at the gun range for it to cycle flawlessly. Went trough about 60 rounds and then tried the Winchester again; sill won't cycle it. Most people say about 200 rounds, so we'll go back again and hope it will finally soften up a bit. Broke it down and cleaned and oiled it again after the range. It was not all that dirty, but I can see how a couple hundred rounds without a cleaning might be an issue. The gun is REALLY well made. I couldn't find anything that needed to be "fixed" upon arrival, no left over burrs or sharp edges anywhere.

I took advantage of the layaway to purchase this SA20. I had no problem with ordering or delivery. I was upset the SA20 I was shipped was not exactly true to the picture--THIS is noted on all photos. I ordered the tactical model that advertised a tri-picatinny rail under the barrel to attach whatever you want (Model #75780). My box had the right model number however I actually received a gun with Model #75781. After quick research Mossberg can no longer sell this weapon with the tri-rail. It remains a mystery to me how this switch happened. I noticed it right away however I still accepted the weapon. Other than this, the weapon is great and lightweight...maybe because it is missing the picatinny tri-rail.
