GREAT , RELIABLE, AND YOU GET YOUR BANG FOR YOUR BUCK WITH THE 1911 !!!!

Great mil spec 1911 for the price.

A vy good alternative to the much more expensive colt and. Had a little trouble with the ammo mag release button sticking, but a little oil and some working it out by pushing the mag release button in and out about 20 times cured that problem. ammo mag recieved with the gun jammed the gun so did other new rem mags jam the gun. colt manufactured mags in this gun made the gun work flawlessly. Other wise I would highly recommend this gun as a much cheaper alternative to the colt manufactured 1911.

I wanted a good quality, affordable 1911A1 replica I could enjoy on the range & carry in nasty conditions at the farm. Not to mention the memories it evokes of my dad. One day I might find an old original Colt or Rand, but the AO lets me run it hard without worrying about it.

I BOUGHT THIS AUTO ORDANCE 1911 FOR MY SON A USMC MAJOR [RET] SOELY BECAUSE IT IS CLOSE TO BEING AN EXACT REPLICAL OF THE MIL SPRC ORIGINAL 1911..
THIS WEEK I RAN ONLY 20+ RDS THRU IT...THE TRIGGER PULL WAS VERY HEAVY...; THE SLIDE FAILED TO STAY OPEN AFTER THE LAST SHOT..SO I TOOK IT TO MY GUN SMITH [BATCHELDER GUN MAKERS IN GRAND RAPIDS,MI] FOR A NEW TRIGGER AND GENERAL "TUNE UP".
I'M NOT COMPLAINING FOR I FEEL THIS PISTOL HAS CHARACTER ,AUTHENTICITY AND WILL SOON FUNCTION FLAWLESSLY.

Pretty impressed with the quality of this 1911a1 reproduction. Very tight slide to frame fit. The finish is excellent, and it shot 50 rounds so far without a hick up. If you’re looking to scratch that GI model itch without breaking the bank I would recommend his 1911a1 from AO.

I didn’t expect very much when I ordered this gun. I was just looking for a 1911 A1 reproduction. When I opened the box the gun I saw was just what I was looking for, when I went to the range what I got was not what I expected. I put 100 rounds of Winchester hardball and my own SWCs without a problem. This puppy needed no breakin and at 10 yards I was hitting the X pretty much every time. Obviously the sights are tiny and a challenge for my 70+ yr old eyes but I was having lots of fun. Trigger was a bit rough but I can feel it smoothing out.

Solid 1911A1. The picture and description were exact. I've put about a 100 rounds through it and have had no malfunctions while using a variety of mags such as Wilson Combat, Remington, and the one included with the firearm. The ammo I used was Federal American Eagle and Winchester white box. My only complaint is how much oil and grease was on the pistol when I got it. It took quite a while to clean off. All in all though, I'm very please and would definitely buy it again. Love my 1911s!

In all honesty I've held real colt 1911s and this pistol hands down not only looks like the real colt 1911 from ww2 but its feels like it is. Even though it's a brand new pistol it feels like what a G.I. would've been carrying while storming Normandy or iwo jima, it shoots great nice grouping from 20yds, by far the best pistol I ever bought or used.

This an awesome Firearm for personal and Historical purposes. I am also Vietnam Historian and this particular model works perfectly for my Impression plus it functions flawlessly!!

Ordered on a monday and in my house on thursday. Not bad. Replaced the safety with a standard Colt safety. Replaced the plastic grips with checkered wood. Correct for the period small sights, those will eventually be replaced. All in all, a good project gun.

I open the box and this thing was beautiful! Packaging is nice and neat with plenty of cushion. The gun looked great right out of the box. No messy tooling oil and metal shards like some other guns come with these days and the slide was smooth as cream cheese on a bagel. On a serious note now, the fit, finish and quality of parts is excellent. There is absolutely no play in the barrel and no rattles if you shake the gun. I put 50 rounds through it the day I brought it home with no malfunctions and it grouped under 4 inches at 20 yards. I would definitly recommend this to anyone that needs a quality 1911 that doesn't drain your life savings.

Very pleased with this pistol. I wanted an American made 1911 A1 and it fit the bill. I have only fired 100 rounds through it but it worked fine. It does come covered some kind of protectant. Don't know if it was oil or what. I did clean it and liberally oiled it. I did work the slide a couple of hundred times before taking it to shoot. Initially the slide action was gritty even after my cleaning and oiling. But that is smoothing out. The trigger is heavy, but it breaks crisply had a firm wall. The trigger was also gritty but that is smoothing out and the pull seemed to lighten up as well. Look it's a $500 1911, not a Wilson Combat so the stiff trigger is the way it is. It was very accurate when I learned the POA and trigger. Would recommend.

Nice basic 1911A1. Series 80 firing pin block. Sticky Magazine Release, oiled it and depressed it a few dozen times and it functioned afterwards. Trigger was right at 6lbs. Great mirror like finish in the bore, I was surprised how well the barrel, slide, and frame was machined.Good black parkerized look to the slide and frame (although I wish they kept the gray/green Parkerizing of an original or arsenal rebuild ). Ran 250 rounds of reloaded 230gr FMJ and 185 gr JHP through it using the factory mag and a couple of Chip McCormack mags with no issues. Really great buy for someone wanting a USA made WW2 style 1911 without having to pay $1400 for an original.

The Auto Ordnance 1911A1 BKO is quality build (old work horse) made in the USA, with 4140 steel and craftsmanship like you will find in a Colt product. I was impressed over all tolerance and machine work with the upper and lower receiver over all fit and finished for a solid build weapon. This 1911A1 plat form and design by JB was history in its development, and used in various wars our Fathers used which proudly served our country like so many other men and women veterans. Super price on a 1911!!!!! 100 rounds in and not one problem to report. Very happy with it. Can't go wrong with an Auto Ordnance as your intro to 1911's. Put a nice set of wood USMC grips on it!

First off buds was awesome, I did the layaway plan with no issues. Now to the pistol, I love it. Only 100 rds through with no malfunctions. Trigger was a little sticky through the first couple mags but great after that. If you want a reproduction of world war 2 era 1911 look no further! Definitely accurate. Will buy another one eventually. For only $475 you can't go wrong!

I have fired about 100 rounds through this gun over the last two months since I bought it, and the only failure I have had is that the slide locked open once before the magazine was empty, however I suspect this problem is more related to the magazine itself and not the gun. Otherwise this gun works just fine out of the box and is very accurate. It's also made in the U.S.A, which is something I prefer when I buy a 1911. When I got the gun I also purchased a box of Winchester white box 230gr .45 ball ammo and some $15 MFR. 1M291 (Checkmate(?)) magazines from my local gun store and this gun runs it all just fine. The Auto-Ordnance 1911 BKO is a good, affordable, American made range or carry gun that can be subjected to heavy use and abuse in good conscience because it isn't expensive or valuable like some other 1911's on the market, it's just a good "work gun". I like it.

I wanted a 1911 as close as possible to the one my father carried in the marines during WWII and I think I got it with this gun and at a good price. This is a quality firearm and looks and feels like it should. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a close to original 1911. Auto Ordnance has done it at a lower price but with the quality of a U.S.A. made firearm.

Felt good to shoot. Even with the GI sights I ate up the center on the first magazine without trying. Good price and has been great so far.

Well if your looking for a 1911 that looks and feels like a WWII one this is it! Shipping was fast and on time, The magazine the gun comes with feels cheap but thats not a big deal you can get good 1911 mags anywhere for not to much money. I have put 400 rounds though it and have not had a malfunction. If you want a good quality made in USA 1911 this is it.
