Very well balanced, action is a bit stiff as expected with any new firearm, finish is beautiful, about 50 rnds so far and no issues. As far as accuracy I have no complaints, gives others in this price range a run for their money

Tristar generally produces well-made guns at a competitive price. This Setter has been returned once under warranty for repair due to the forearm latch failure, as it fell apart while in use. The trigger has had intermittent failure to reset and is likely to be returned to Bud's for repair. My experience with BUD's repair warranty has been excellent with a fast turnaround time. The shotgun handles well and has good balance. A tight fittin receiver takes several hundred rounds to loosen up. Once the bugs are worked out I expect this Tristar to function as well as my other Tristars.

This was an excellent starter shotgun to shoot trap or sporting clays with.

The gun is exactly as expected. Perfect size and caliber for my wife to shoot. We went to the range and put twenty five rounds through it with no issues. It was a little tight when we first got it but is perfect now after shooting it.
Great buying experience and a great gun for a smaller sizes shooter.

The TriStar is a great little gun. The fit is flawless and the blueing looks like a more expensive gun. I would recommend it to anyone that wants an over and under that doesn't cost a fortune.

I purchased my setter 20 gauge 2 years ago, I wanted to give the gun a fair honest review. So here it is. First off if you are new to purchase from Buds let me say that they are a good company. Shipping from them does take a little longer than anywhere else, so don't be in to much of a hurry. This review is more for the Tristar Setter. I was had not heard of the Tristar name when I was shopping for an over/under. However, as I started reading reviews on many different guns I came across the Setter. I was planning on spending around $1000.00 for a gun. All the reviews I read or watched on youtube simply made me comfortable in taking a chance on it. I must also say that at $421 it wasn't going to be much of a risk. I for one am kind of sick of the matte finish and synthetic look of most guns anymore and I thought the setter form all of the pictures looked beautiful. When I received my Setter I was pleased to see that it was as beautiful as most that I saw online. It was also put together fairly well considering it's price range (inexpensive). So out to the my back yard to shoot clays we went. For me the gun fit very well and the barrel was perfectly regulated for clay and upland bird hunting. I was able to crush clay after clay. 2 weeks later I had an informal clay competition which only included about 10 friends who are mostly experienced clay shooters. First off, let me say that every single one of them were very impressed with the looks of the gun. After the competition every single one of them were impressed with how well it shot. I must say here that I do not think I could shoot a 12 gauge setter in a fast pace clays competition as it would most likely get a little uncomfortable after a couple hundred rounds and you would most certainly feel it the next day, but again this is a 20 gauge. Anyways, on that day shot high score and had a lot of fun doing it. I have since hunted many times with it and used it mainly for fun shooting clays and I've put over a thousand rounds thru it without any problems. Ok, so after shooting this gun for a couple of years here is my only very small complaint and some people might even consider this a good thing but out of the box this gun was a little to stiff to open for my liking which was to be expected from all the reviews. Well it's still the same and hasn't loosened up any and is still to stiff, it's still needs 2 hands to open it but it's not so stiff as require major leverage to open it. I love this gun and I have also purchased another Tristar since. The Viper g2 bronze in 12 gauge. I will probably review that gun next year. I would rate this gun very high even if I would have spent twice as much on it. My review is buy this gun. I know that you'll love it.

This is one bad ass dove killer. It dominates the skeet range and with aftermarket extended chokes it's a contender in sporting clays .

The weapon was an excellent price for the quality. I just purchased another weapon from Bud's this week and the price was also very good. The only down fall is it takes for ever to get them. I ordered the first one and it did not ship for 10 days then took a few more days to actually get it. I have purchased from other dealers and had the weapon in just a few days. My FFL dealer warned me they are slow to ship

First I want to say that dealing with Budsgunshop is awesome, easy to deal with, smooth transactions, good prices, and fast shipping, will definitely deal with them again. This Tristar Setter in 20 gage I bought is a really good looking shotgun for the money. I took it out for some trap shooting and it shot great no problems. I was really surprised how much I actually like this gun and I shot good with it. You wont be disappointed with this gun for the price point it is at. The wood looks good,and the work on the receiver is done decently.

For the 3rd straight time, Buds is batting 1000. My TRISTAR Setter arrived ahead of schedule and when opened appeared to be a $2000+ firearm. It's beautiful and operates smoothly. The stock checkering is perfect as is the engraving in the silver receiver. Blueing is as good as it gets. The top tang safety and chamber selector switch is new to me but seems like a good idea. I am confident it will operate as advertised once I get it to the range.

Great customer service. Shipping info was immediately available and updated often. The shotgun arrived right when it was supposed to, and looked beautiful right out of the box. It was a gift for my wife and she couldn't be happier with it.

I found the shotgun to be very pretty and got compliments at my gun club of how nice looking a firearm it is. Unfortunately I had to send to TriStar at my dime, more like $32.00 for shipping, to have the trigger reworked because it never would spring back for the 2nd trigger pull for the 2nd shot after the 1st couple of shots. They fixed in a very timely manner and got back within 2 weeks. They paid to ship back to me. I bitched about having to pay to ship to them but to no avail. The 5 year warranty is nice but thankfully I have more than one shotgun and this didn't take me out of my game so to speak. Shoots fine now but will be monitoring very closely from here on out. At least for 5 years LOL.
