I actually like the older version better. I like the California bullet-in-chamber indicator that is a big, white lever. This is just a small pin which is kind of lame. Plus less aftermarket support. Better trigger is the only positive.

The bolt assembly was defective, but S&W fixed it within a week. Very happy with the company and this purchase. They don't mess around with their reputation. Even if it's a budget product.

Racking is stiff. Im sure itll get better. Closest your gonna get to a American icon with out involving the atf and under $30000.

The Diamondback SDR 3" is everything I hoped it would be. Very nice fit & finish. The trigger breaks right as expected, for accurate double action shots. The single action is VERY good. The Hogue grips control perceived recoil very well without too much bulk. I am very satisfied with both the Diamondback as well as the quick and professional service from Buds gun shop.

Rifle punches way above its weight. Excellent build quality. Action quite smooth for a rifle of this price and love the stock. Loves hornady ammo. As always buds was great
