Got it in to the LGS...

Got it in to the LGS today. Took it home for a inspect and cleaning. Very impressed with the fitments. Love the dark green frame too. Barrel very well fitted as is the bushing. Clean 4.5 to 5# trigger with a crisp reset. Extractor has 2# tension on a shell. Perfect for a new gun as that will wear in a bit with initial use. Finish was perfect. Very happy to see the cera coat wasn't at all too heavy on the frame rails. Slide is a excellent fit and very smooth action. Everything on it tells me it'll be a great pistol at the range. This is my 4th Tisas 1911 and I have been impressed with them all. Thanks to Buds for this special build. Its just like a gen 4 Meusoc before the M45 went into use. A very useful bit of kit! I also want to say a special thanks to Buds customer service. I had a really bad issue when I ordered this in that my initial LGS refused the transfer! With our laws in VA changing, they suddenly decided to just stop. No more transfers (Not even legal ones for non-banned equipment). and it got shipped back to Buds. The lady I spoke to at Buds was incredibly helpful and gave me a timeline of what to expect going forwards. That timeline happened exactly as she laid it out. Today it arrived at a different and more helpful FFL for the transfer. BG check took 5 minutes. Then the drive home to inspect it. 5 stars for Buds and Tisas. Call me a very satisfied customer!

For this one, I picked...

For this one, I picked it up so I could have a revolver capable of 45 LC P (for heavy lead), 454 Casull and 460 S&W magnum. Picked this one up since I just don't like the two tone (however that was a personal asethetic choice - sure it's OK as a model). Why would someone buy a hand "cannon" like this revolver. Well, to handle larger than normal issues. We have some 'interesting' animals here on the edge of the national park, so picked it up for that purpose because it appeared to be the best / most cost effective option for my purposes. Figured this would work better than my .357's, 45 Supers or 10mm's, which didn't seem like enough gun after seeing a few of these critters for the first time(even with heavy .357 200 grain SWCFP's). Now for the revolver here: For this one, I use the GunfightersINC holster both as a Kenai chest and numblat drawl (like a Marsupial) - I only mention this because people have a hard time finding holsters for these. In most cases, I just carry it - it's heavy and large, but it's not ridiculous. For starters on performance, this pistol performs fine. For the 5. " version, it's heavy enough to counter most recoil, plus like it or not, it's ported. I didn't want the longer ones either, so I risked buying this one. As for the porting? This helps the felt recoil I imagine. 45 LC standard Cowboy is super easy to handle, so is 'stadard' colt (most likely) - however - "bear" 45 LC P with heavy lead (think it was 325 GC grains) is definately going to get your attention - so expect a noticeable, but manageable recoil. 454 Casull is suprisignly manageable, I used a standard SJFP at 260 grains and it was fine. For testing the 460 S&W, I used the Hornady DGH 300 grain 460 S&W cartridge, that round was also somewhat lighter than I expected - nothing like all the reviewers on Youtube show. Nor could I get my water jugs to 'vaporize' like they did on the 'Tube'. Getting back on target and following up with the ammo I picked out, was also not an issue. No idea why people on Guntube make this out to be harder to shoot that it is - I also wasn't using BB ammo either, but the standard stuff most of you can buy. Really surprised Bud's hasn't sold out of this model - figure that is most likely because one guy left this revolver a 1 star review accidently, but gave it a positive summary review if you take the time to read what he wrote. More people should buy this model in my opinion, but again, that's my opinion after actually firing this revolver. Timing is fine, finish is fine - though I like blueing better that matte, but it works for the price and probably better for where I live (forest with lots of rain). Loading is fine, lock up is fine, trigger is fine. Trigger is heavy, but that's OK, nothing a good spring/polish job wouldn't fix. Got to directly compare it to the VRX, both are nice, either will work for me - simply went with the Taurus based on entry point to in hand. The VRX may be my next pick up, but I'm not getting rid of this one. Spent a couple weeks working the action before I fired it, clunky at first, but it's OK. There were no pressure issues when actioning the rod, each spent cartridge came right out as expected. If you are on the fence about this one, don't be. If you are looking for a forest / home defense option for these 8' and over 'intersting' animals and don't want to get the longer versions for carry purposes, you can't go wrong - this will work, and with just a little experience, you can handle the recoil (despite what the Youtubers are saying). Picked mine up after a layway, Bud's shipping was good and my FFL wanted one when they saw mine. Give it a shot.

The Kimber Micro 9 is...

The Kimber Micro 9 is a perfect pocket pistol. Even with regular blue jeans pockets. I'm a bigger guy so it's hard to to do anything other than OWB. With a IWB holster inside into my pocket and with my tshirt covers it fine. I wear talls. I have ran about 1000 rounds so far and absolutely no issues. Great pistol by a great company. Also the price point through buds was impossible to pass. Wish I would have bought two.

Way to go Bud's! Couldn't find these mags and as usual Bud's came through. They had them in stock when many of the big mag warehouse companies did not. They were authentic, quality built, the right ones the first time and on time. Stick to local shopping even if it costs a dollar or two more.
