As usual Buds did a great job from start to finish ! Communication and shipping with Buds is second to none. I recieved the Stoeger Cougar 8045F and all was good, I now have the 8000 / 8040 / 8045 and they are all great guns for the money. Purchased the Stoeger .45 about a month ago and finally got time to test it on the range today. I took 2 of my favorites along with it to compare, my Sig 220 and my Kimber Ultra TLE. All I can say is: Wow! The Cougar .45 ran flawlessly and was extremely accurate for me as well. I shot a very tight pattern, probably a 1" group, at 6 yards with it and then shot my steel plates at 15 yards with it. I was hitting the 4.5" steel plates at 15 yards with the Cougar consistently from a standing position, unsupported. The pistol feels great in hand and even though the grip is not an expensive grip, it is a very good design and feels excellent. I shot 5 full mags thru the Cougar without a single issue. I hadn't ever shot a "Beretta style" pistol, but I can now say I like the decocker/safety on this pistol and everything is basically a Beretta, but the nice thing is the compact length of this gun compared to the other Beretta pistols out there. Even the owner's manual references Beretta in it since Stoeger is part of Benelli, a company under the Beretta umbrella. I shot the other two pistols well today too, but couldn't see any difference in accuracy in the much more expensive pistols than for the Cougar; they all shot very well and without issues. For about half the price of these other two favorites of mine, I just don't think anyone could go wrong with the Stoeger Cougar .45, it is a very well made, quality pistol. Oh, and the takedown is super easy for cleaning, which is also a plus for me, it is just as easy as the Sig 220 to field strip. All three pistols were purchased thru Buds and, as usual, Buds was great to deal with and received the gun in 3 business days to my FFL in NC.

Great full size gun for a great price. Can't beat that 45 stopping power with mild recoil. fast shipping, smooth transaction. The slide is sharper than usual so make sure you don't cut your thumb off, other then that a safe, reliable gun (no malfunctions). Good for a nightstand.

Great .45 ACP auto. I was extremely surprised with the out of the box accuracy and reliability. I have shot about 200 sellier and bellot and federal .45 ACP through this beast and have not had any problems at all. The fit and finish of this gun is great for the money. The trigger is ok too, it is not weird like some. It is a different design not a 1911 copy. The design of this gun boast more reliability due the barrel locking mechanism. I believe this could be true.I recommend this gun to any gunner seeking an alternative for the 1911 pattern for less than $500. Buds delivered this gun to my FFL in 3 days. Great service.

After a few hundred rounds, I can say the following with confidence: If there is a better value in .45's out there, I'm not sure what it is. This gun is EXTREMELY ACCURATE, shoots every box ammo out there without stovepipes, is super easy to take down, has a great capacity and fits my medium-sized hand perfectly. The de-cocker/safety is easily accessible and is a great feature. Also nice to have the Pic rail to hold a light/laser combo. If you haven't shot this gun before you buy it, you should know that it has a longer trigger pull than you'd find on a typical 1911 .45. The pull is easy and smooth, but long. Not a "slapper" trigger. I like it, as I use this gun as one of my home defense guns, and don't want a hair trigger (and need the pic rail for light/laser). Overall, buy this gun if you want total dependability, a pic rail, unbelievable accuracy and have a medium to large-sized hand. (Small hands may find the grip to be on the large size). Buds delivered this to me in a reasonable time frame at a great price. Great communication about the transaction. Will be buying more Stoegers -- they are a joy to shoot.

This is an excellent gun. Well balanced, and deadly accurate. An outstanding gun for the price and one of several companies that come with two mags and a cable safety padlock. I also have the 40 cal and just ordered the 9mm which is on it's way to me. If you are looking for quality and value for your money you cannot go wrond with the Cougar.Buy one or more from Buds!

First buy with Buds... Very smooth transaction ! Not shot this one but have had all cougar versions and they are a very good gun. I wish some of the upper end stuff I have had over the years would have worked as trouble free as the cougars have. Thanks Buds way to do business.
