Doug, no Sir. The 500 barrels have a "Captive" barrel screw that threads into the end of the mag tube. The 835 uses a screw on mag tube "Cap" similar to a Remington 870 that screws onto the end of the mag tube.

Purchases this about a year ago and put about 100 Winchester Slugs and about 200 Buckshots OO, and it has been flawless, cant go wrong with the price and very accurate for the most part if you can take the kick, just added a non-recoil stock but havn't tested yet. Bud's Service was Great!!!! Just became a loyal Buds Customer.
