I received this rifle quickly and in top shap from Buds. Service was good enough to get the job done. This savage has a beautiful stock. Better than pictured. The forearm is of a nice contour, the palm swell is fine but could be larger, the cheek piece really feels nice. Stock is great for this inexpensive rifle. The spiral fluting on the barrel is not dramatic. I doubt if it is functional. But the quality of this gun over all is excellent. I received this rifle yesterday and have not shot it yet. But it will shoot awesome like all Savages generally do. The trigger is good and needs no tuning. I mounted a nice scope on it. The Weaver mounts were on the rifle from the factory. Is this gun worth the extra 200$ compared to a synthetic stocked one? It will shoot the same more or less. But it looks great and feels closer to a sweet varmit rifle just stock. Yes it is a great investment and beautiful as well.

Looks good, shoots pretty good, about 1 to 1.5inch groups at 100 yrds...Not great but not too bad. pretty good product. The mag woobles quite a bit.

I have owned almost every version of the Savage 93R17 17 hmr rifle that savage offers. And this one is by far my favorite. Dont let the laminate stock scare you away its actually very strong and believe it or not light weight. I have this model and the Savage 93r17 TR and the Brj is so much lighter and the spiral fluting makes it really stand out! very accurate rifles and very well built. This rifle shoots extremely well.
