Great single action revolver. Bought it for some cowboy action shooting. And it’s nice to be able to shoot much hotter 45 colt too, which I can’t do with my Pietta 1873. Looks good. Shoots straight. Going to get me some wood grips and it’ll be perfect. Runs flawless.

Bud's shipping was easy to use and was on time like always. I've never had a problem with buds. However, my Blackhawk had issues right out of the box. The cylinder locked up on me before I even had a chance to put any cartridges in it. Had to remove the cylinder pin to unlock it. I sent it back to Ruger for repairs. We'll see what it's like when I get it back.

Ruger is my go-to when considering revolvers. This Blackhawk is a superb example. If you are a fan of .45 Colt, this is the handgun for you.

Revolver was NIB, came wrapped in plastic and was well oiled. However it has some significant defects that show a lack of quality control on Ruger's part. There is a burr on the recoil shield to the left of the rear sight, the trigger return is very gritty/sticky, and worst of all, ammo won't fully chamber. There's a slight ridge in back of the cylinder throats that appears to be the result of not reaming the cylinder to normal depth so rounds drop in but stop when they hit that ridge which prevents them from fully chambering. I contacted Ruger Customer Service and was told to send the gun to them to take a look at which I have done (they provided the shipping label) so I'll see how they choose to address the problems. As I'm writing this review, the gun is still in transit to Ruger's repair facility. My rating reflects the quality problems; were it not for these I would have rated it much higher as I think I'm going to like the revolver if the problems with it get satisfactorily resolved.

Update to my previous review. Buds service has been nothing less than outstanding and they offered several ways to fix the issue. Another Buds Gun Shop great serice result. Not only is the Ruger a great little single action gun but IMHO Buds can easily claim to have the best customer service in the US.

This is a solidly made Ruger single action revolver and very fun to shoot. Right out of the box it shot well and the adjustable sight was easy to zero in. Be aware that this is a New Model Blackhawk and DOES NOT come with both the 45 Colt and 45 ACP cylinders. It comes only with the 45 Colt. The descriptive text talks about the convertible and both cylinders but does not state both are included. The convertible (with both cylinders) is available but costs about $50 more. I would have given 5 stars if the description was more clear.
