I have long been a fan of Barnes ammo and it was what I kept loaded in my 375 Sako carbine when I lived in Alaska. This particular round might be used for deer close up as my family all love venison.

Barns Vor-TX 45-70 ammo. I don’t have anything to judge by except for my shoulder. My right shoulder pain, and multi color bruising tell me this is some great ammo. Solid copper projectile and plenty stout in my new Ruger SBL. Can’t wait till next years deer season. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be great! And buds is pretty good too!

I've been testing a whole lot of different 45-70 ammo after purchasing a Pedersoli HogBuster 1886 Winchester - this load is one of three that I would choose to hunt whitetail with. Good accuracy and grouping and penetration for a DRT result.

Although I haven’t hunted with these yet I found them to be very accurate while sighting in my Marlin Guide Gun. My first 100 yd three shot group was a 3/8” cloverleaf! My second group was less than 1-1/2”. My scope was set to 3x. This recoil wasn’t too bad either, less than the Leverevo’s.
