• Q: I recently bought a Ruger SR1911 and am concerned about the noticeable play in the trigger as in a can grasp the trigger and wiggle it from side to side. This doesn’t seem proper. I actually called Ruger customer support. The woman on the phone assured me this was normal, but I’m curious if any of you have similar experience or thoughts on the trigger?

  Christopher, this is normal. Not only is it normal for Ruger 1911s, its normal for most 1911s. Its just the way the 1911 trigger was designed. Hope this helps.

• Q: Has anyone seen the SR1911 available anywhere? Have not seen one in over a year. Ruger does not answer if they are still making them.

  Richard, they are still being made but sustained high demand and low supply make it extremely difficult to find. You can go off script and check on large gun and accessory sites like (6)un (8)roker, Armslist and Guns America as discontinued and hard to find firearms and accessories show up for sale by private individuals and small shops. Just replace (6) & (8) with G & B.
• Q: When it states "Single" its referring to Single/double action correct?

  no it is a single action only. 1911s must be cocked before they will fire they are normally carried hammer back and safety on called "cocked and locked " after the 1st shot the slide cycles and leaves the hammer cocked for the next shot

• Q: I had a milspec 1911 by Springfield armory. It was one of those promotional deals where they send a bunch of things and like 4 extra mags. Would those 7 round magazines fit in this gun? Will they work too? They’re milspec. Why buy more mags if I might be able to use those right?

  You can use the magazine with either firearm. The one that holds 8 rounds is the same as the mil-spec version from your Springfield 1911. You won’t have any issues. It was my pleasure to assist you.

• Q: So I have this and the magazine pop out really fast which I don’t mind at all. Sometimes when I’m doing drills I let them fall to the ground. I bent one a bit. Is there a hack to protect this? I see some people put black electrical tape but that looks funky for such a nice gun like this.

• Q: Is this now CA compliant? I seen one for sale at a gun store but they wanted too much.

  Unfortunately, it’s not compliant. It’s such a bummer. I don’t see it on the roster. Maybe the one you saw at the gun store was for law enforcement only. Or it could be a consignment gun but via PPT once the sale is done. I’m nit sure. I would just ask your FFL. They have some of the best info.

• Q: Will this function a 10 round Wilson Combat mag? I purchased 3 of them but I guess I should of asked before I did,

  The Wilson Combat magazines will function in this firearm. They are ideal for that extra round capacity. To me, a 1911 with a 10 round magazine is perfect for many situations. You will not regret buying the magazines. 45 ACP is a beast! Slow, but has the stopping power. I don’t own the Ruger shown, but have used many types of magazines, including the Wilson Combat.   Jason, This pistol features rear cocking serrations and a dovetailed three-dot sight system with a Novak® rear sight and standard front sight. • Q: What kind of safety does this pistol have?

  Sir, 1911s have, first, a 'drop safety' to prevent the pistol from firing if dropped; Then there is the 'grip' safety that prevents the trigger being pulled unless the shooter has a firm grip on the firearm, then there is the 'thumb'; safety that locks the hammer and slide in place, preventing the pistol from being fired. And fourth, of course is the shooter's trigger finger - the most important safety of all. This particular 1911 does not have an ambidexterious thumb safety.
