Browning's A-Bolt Hunter and Stalker bolt action 12 gauge shotguns feature a steel receiver with a low-luster blued finish, drilled and taped for scope mounts. The 22" barrel has the same low-luster blued finish, and is thick-walled and fully rifled for slug and sabot ammunition. These A-Bolt models feature a TruGlo/Marble's fiber optic front sight and adjustable rear sight. The A-Bolt has a 3" chamber, bolt action with a 60 degree lift, 2-round magazine, and top tang safety.The A-Bolt has three stock options with sling swivel studs installed and a recoil pad: the satin finish walnut stock Hunter, Mossy Oak Infinity composite stock Hunter or black composite stock Stalker.

This shotgun has been great! I can shoot 3” groups at 100 yards. You have to pull the bolt back with some force to make sure the shell cycles out but I haven’t had issues while hunting. Very happy with this gun.

Lives up to the Browning name. Tight and smooth action as well as trigger, light and maneuverable in a tree stand. 3in. sabot slugs produce a 2 inch pattern at 100yds without any problem other than a stiff recoil. If using the recommended direct bolt on browning rings I found it didn't allow space for a "nikon slug hunter" shotgun scope so moved to a rifle scope which fit and shot beautiful as it really is a rifle platform. Eye relief is tight but enough.

I live in a Shotgun only county and the Browning A Bolt 12g is the most accurate shotgun I have found for hunting deer. The walnut finish is in my opinion the way to go, because it delivers a higher value look than the other finishes, while also adding just a little weight to the gun. All the moving parts cycle smoothly and work reliably. The fiber optic sights are fantastic, but you will need a scope on this to take advantage of the distance it can give you. The accuracy is appropriate for Mid Atlantic hayfield hunting and I have taken 3 deer this year, at 105yds, 145yds and 135yds. If you need reliable shotgun accuracy beyond 75yds, this gun is the premium value option.
