I got this from Buds and just over procrastination to review. Buds is always great to deal with - fast and simple. The design of the guns appeals to me. Words like funky, purposefully ugly, oddball come to mind but it all comes together and works the way it is supposed to. I am surprised that other manufacturers haven't found a way to copy it. Shooting through the lower cylinder brings the recoil straight back rather than tending to lift the muzzle. Yeah! - this actually works as advertised. The gun is relatively light weight compared to the 357s of similar size. it handles 38 Spcl and Plus P ammo like a 22lr. It makes for very accurate shooting. Moving to 357 Magnum, I feel a heavier concussion through my arm and with the 4" barrel there was some dramatic muzzle flash. But, the sense of recoil is totally controllable with noticeable lack of muzzle flip. Its easy to get back on target for follow up shots and, it, oh yes, very accurate. I didn't imagine that the shape of the grip was going to be as comfortable as it has turned out. Pointing is very natural. My wife has a S&W 686 Plus which is great revolver. She loves it but avoids shooting magnum which even with a heavy gun like this can have a bit of a kick. Controllable yes but she doesn't like the extra drama so sticks with 38 Spcl and plus P does just fine for her. She has shot this and likes it but will always call her 686 her favorite. I like her gun also but when it comes to revolvers, this wins for me.

It is a fantastic pleasure shooting the Rhino 357 revolver: almost no muzzle flip; only the big bang fun of the 357 magnum :) For a full-size 4 inch barrel revolver, the weight is quite light and profile is slim (due to the flat style cylinder profile). Going to be one of my carry accessories.

Great unique firearm with a wonderful design to handle the recoil. Took it to the range the second I got it from my ffl and put 100 rounds down range flawlessly. I love my colt revolvers but this gun has earned my admiration.

It is funny how difficult it is to know from a photograph how a pistol with feel in the hand. The Chiappa Rhino with a 4" barrel nestles in my hand and has an instant balance. I thought the unusual revolver would take time to get used to. It does not. The gun points naturally making it a great piece for two-eyes open shooting where the sights become less and less important. The cocking lever for single action shooting too small. I know they didn't want it to catch on anything for concealed carry applications, but leave the puny one on the 2" model and put something bigger on the 4, 5, 6" barrel models. With practice, I've been able to cock the pistol with one hand, but it's a chore. Why bother? Because the single-action trigger is wonderful, allowing for good accuracy. Speaking of accuracy, the 4" barrel Rhino is a tack-driver. No one mentions the tensioned barrel in the piece, which sits inside the aluminum shroud and is tensioned or stretched with bushings in front and back. It shoots like a pistol with a much longer barrel. The six o'clock location of the barrel, compared to the 12 o'clock position of other revolvers, does lessen felt recoil. Compared to other pistols of 4" barrel in .357 mag, you will feel a big difference, though my 4" Python is pretty close. The more in-line recoil made me get a pair of thin leather gloves to help soak up the smack from the grip hitting the heel of my hand. All in all, I could not be happier and with Chiappa would consider bringing the Rhino out in .44 mag. The Mateba Auto-revolver, designed by the same man, came in .44 mag (and even .454 Casull) and must have sold more of them in .44 than other calibers because it's the most common.
