I was very pleased to support my local economy (I am a New York State resident) and purchased a 'Remington Arms' shotgun. The reviews were mostly positive, stating that this shotgun would be very accurate- straight out of the box. I brought the shotgun to my local gun range and began to "zero" it in. I was astounded that the rounds were grouped far to right, at 25 yards. I continued to adjust the rear sight, and was just short of maxing it out to the left before I could center my shot group. After all was said and done (15 sabots), I took a look at the dovetailed front sight post. This was extremely off center, as the majority of it was protruding off to the left side of the barrel. If I could simply look down at the barrel and determine the front sight post to be grossly off center, I have serious doubts about the quality of the manufacturing/inspecting of this shotgun. It appears as if the front sight post was simply placed into the dovetail slot, and that there was not any effort to ensure that it was centered.
Poor performance, straight out of the box. The shotgun was never bumped, knocked or abused- this shotgun went from the manufacturer's box, to the gun safe, and to the firing range in a hard cover case
I will not purchase another 'Remington Arms' product.

Another great remington 870. There's no such thing as a bad 870 is there? Great price and speedy shipping as usual.

Love it! First 2 shots touching @100yds middle of head on body target, no sight adjustment. Always count on 870, looks great with wood furniture.

Bought this 870 shotgun a few months ago. Used it this year for deer season in Illinois. Sighted in just great at 50 and 100 yds. Nice weapon!!!
