Picked this up due to my experience with my Kahr PM-9 and CM-9 and both of them have been flawless for me. This new CM-40 is the same, great fit and finish and
smooth right out of the box. Good gun, good price! As always Buds was great to deal with! AAA +++

The first 150ish rounds had some issues, but after that no major problems. The trigger brake does get slack (farther pull needed) if the weapon is dirty. It dose need cleaning after every 50 rounds. I believe this to be good for a CCW. The first six rounds is what matters to me. I carry IWB with no snags or magazine releases. The grip is small and short, but not hard to hold. Fuzz and dust does make it easily into every part of the weapon, so it gets blown out once a week. This Kahr is now my primary weapon - it is that good.

Buds was awesome as usual. I selected the e-check option, so it took longer to receive my firearm, but Buds topped it off by shipping next day air. Amazing customer service! Now to the Kahr CM40...Love this gun!! I've never owned a Kahr, but I've always liked them. The CM40 is perfection in a small package, top quality for the price point, and shoots like a dream with that sweet Kahr trigger. The gun was packed in oil as if Kahr planned on storing this gun for 50 years, but thats to be expected, and I appreciate a little extra oil. The gun was tight, with no slop between the frame and slide, but began to loosen a bit after shooting (this is a good thing). Easy to disassemble and reassemble if you know anything about how guns work, and feels great in the hand. I have semi-large hands and the frame still managed to give me a comfortable grip with my pinky finger just below the magazine plate. At the range the gun performed flawlessly. I've only put about 80 rounds through it so far, so I can't comment too much on reliability at this point, but I will update this review after the break-in period. I was skeptical at first because the only bad reviews I found on the CM40 were all relating to the magazine breaking followers because of the feed ramp being a hair too long. Kahr insists that this problem is rare, and I have not had any issues with this thus far. I have only heard great things about Kahr's customer service, so if this becomes an issue in the future Kahr should fix the problem. Over all I love the gun, and if you are looking for a slim, light, and fun to shoot concealed carry weapon or truck gun, than the CM40 is perfect. If you have any experience at all with handguns and how to hold them, than this little power house will only kick like a 9mm in your hands (my perspective anyway). Great price from Buds too, with a little haggling of course. Thank you Buds, I'll be back very soon!!

Well, I have no choice but to give this pistol the review it deserves.Bud's is great-product arrived at my FFL dealer's quickly and without issue. The pistol appeared to be okay, but after I got it home the issues started. It absolutely won't feed a round into the chamber without serious machinations. I cleaned it, lightly oiled it, no luck. So I did it again, same thing. It won't feed. Finally, after racking the slide about two hundred times and putting only one round in the mag, I got it to feed correctly ONCE. But no more. So I went to disassemble the pistol again; this time the slide release wouldn't come out. I called Kahr; after a very long wait I got a tech on the line; he guided me through getting the slide release out with the slide pulled fully back; not easy, as another issue had surfaced-the slide started locking back every time I pulled it back, mag in or out. But once it was again disassembled, the tech asked me if the spring under the slide release was in a certain position. I couldn't tell exactly what he meant, so I offered to send a photo. He responded that that would be ideal, so within five minutes of our conversation I had sent Kahr an email with all my contact info, serial number, photo, explanation, everything. That was on 1/23/14; it's now 2/5/14 and I have heard NOTHING. Repeated calls to the tech line are never answered, just go to voicemail. I am disgusted with this company.I know that I must send it back, but I can't even get them on the line to get the required RA. If I can get them and they can fix it, it's going down the road

No problem with purchasing this gun from Bud's, but I did have a problem with the Kahr CM40 before firing a single shot. The problem was with the trigger. Kahrs have a striker firing mechanism, and in order to get the striker to release, I had to pull the trigger the entire length of travel and then squeeze the trigger harder to get the striker to release. There was no additional trigger travel past the point where I needed to apply the additional force. Having to apply such additional pressure made it very difficult to keep the sights on target, so I suspect it would affect my accuracy if I had run live ammunition through the gun.

I contacted Kahr about the problem and ended up sending the gun back to the factory to remedy the problem. Shouldn't have an issue like that with a brand new gun, so because of that problem, I can only give a 3 out of 5 rating.
