Born of the traditions of the Old West, the Rough Rider maintains much of the look and feel of the legendary Single Action Army revolver, only in a scaled down version. Chambered for the .22LR the Rough Rider is manufactured using state-of-the-art precision machinery that assures its accuracy and reliability. The cylinder lock-up is tight and the perfect timing of the action makes for a handgun that will put its shots where you want 'em.
The machined barrel is micro-threaded and inserted into the frame for the optimal barrel/cylinder gap to give you maximum ammunition performance. A hammer block mounted in the recoil shield provides extra protection and has a red dot indicator that lets you know when the gun is ready for action. A new, more authentic looking flat-sided hammer paired with new exotic cocobolo grips, makes the Rough Rider both functional and handsome. There are also other grip materials available, plus finish options include the attractive and durable Smooth Silver Satin. When it comes to the Rough Rider there are no shortcuts taken!

Ideal for hunting, plinking or western action shooting, let the Rough Rider be your choice in a new rimfire revolver.

I own both a Rough Rider and a Ruger Single Ten. I enjoy shooting the Rough Rider just as much as the Ruger. I have encountered no problems with either revolver, I must admit that the Ruger is a much nicer revolver but for the price difference I would recommend the Rough Rider for a first time purchase of a 22lr single action revolver (maybe get a Ruger Single Ten or Six later after you've had a hole lot of FUN (and learned a lot about single action revolvers). Great revolver for the price. Bud's delivery was just right.

The gun was shipped right away by Bud's and is in excellent condition. Just what I was hoping for. The only thing to note is that while the picture shows the "cocobolo" grips, and that is what is marked on the box, it appears mine came with the "rosewood" grips instead. Not that I'm complaining!

Great service from Budsgunshop. Bravo.

As to a review of the Heritage Rough Rider 22 lr 6 1/2 inch barrel, it is an adequately made revolver. It has fixed sites, and mine shoots a bit low and to the left. But once that was known, it was consistent in groups. I like the safety and do not find it a problem. Loading and unloading takes more time than if the cylinder would flip to the side, or if the barrel would fold open at the top. But that would mean more working parts and probably more money in production costs. Unloading each chamber with the rod can get tiresome, but it is what it is.

The grip angle is nice. I have big hands, and it does not feel too small. Single action mechanism is very smooth. Trigger pull is just about right where I like it. Very little kick.

Overall I would give the Heritage Rough Rider 22 LR single action revolver a solid B rating. A flip out cylinder for loading and unloading and adjustable sites would make this pistol an A.

Nice gun, fun and cheap to shoot. Good for the money. Only complaint, base pin started sticking, became real stubborn to remove and insert when removing barrel for cleaning. All in all, issue is not a deal breaker, I can live with it.
