Great Colt pistol. Have owned several and seem to always come back to this simple model in 38 super. Wish the payment processing was faster other than that very happy with purchase.

Everything was great except instead of receiving 2 .38 super mags I got 1 correct mag and 1 9mm Luger magazine....I emailed their customer support and have yet to hear back. Other than that it, shipping was fast and the ffl process was very painless! 5/5

Great Pistol. Crap mags. Mags ether don't hold gun open after last round or jam gun open and wont come out of gun. Guess i'll have to mail mags back to colt.

Just fired the first box of Armscor through it. One stovepipe but other than that it ran very smooth. I did not clean it before firing but did disassemble it beforehand. It is a cold day here and my form was not perfect so, especially with it being bargain ammo and a new gun the stovepipe does not concern me. Accuracy was good and the cycling was smooth. The 38Super caliber is fantastic! This bargain load is supposed to be a 125 grain Fmj at 1200 Fps. Zero recoil at all. Knowing I can also buy premium 124 grain loads at 1350 Fps make this a very versatile pistol. Far superior in fit and function than a similarly priced Springfield loaded 9mm I had several years back. That was a crude boat anchor compared to this Colt. I love this pistol and as my first experience with the 38Super I think I love this caliber now too! One warning, this Colt and a XSE Commander I bought earlier this year have poorly polished slide stop levers which result in scratching on the frame, behind the lever. Colt should do a better job of polishing this part but inspect yours before you shoot/handle yours too much. I still rate this high(nothing's perfect)

Despite what you may have heard, Colt aint dead yet. I've had this weapon about a year and have no complaints. A very solid piece. Extremely accurate and ready to go 200 rounds every time out. No mechanical failures. The (very) occasional jam I think is magazine based and always is fixed by re-reracking the slide. Big gun. I put on Pachmayer wraparound grips to accomodate large hands. The gun will eat any kind of 38 super auto +P ammo. Nice fit and finish, high quality stainless steel - polished flats, very handsome. I'm trying to think of something critical but can't come up with anything - maybe add Novack style sights as they do in the XSE line, but the current front sight is excellent.. In the 38 super auto category, Colt is more than holding its own. I also have their lightweight commander in 38 super (Bought at a more than fair price from Bud) and that is superb. Maybe its the luck of the draw when you buy a Colt, but I am pleased and would recommend this gun for any purpose.
