The Colt 1991 Series is a direct descendant of the original Colt
M1911. A long trigger, flat mainspring housing and original style recoil
spring system remain from the original M1911 design. Upgrades from the
original include white dot sights and a lowered ejection port for extra
reliability. It still remains “the standard” that everyone tries to

The most accurate 1911 I own. Phenomenal hand gun. Was going to change the sights but after seeing how accurate it was during the initial test firing. I haven’t touched them. One of the best carry guns I have ever owned, Thanks buds!

The 1911 is gorgeous! Hey, it's a Colt! It was sent to me quickly, but as so frequently happens when I buy from Bud's, it included no proof-of-purchase. So, if I ever require warranty assistance and am SOL. This lack of a receipt has been standard procedure over the course of to FFLs. Recently, at my second FFL, I was told that they did not think Budsgunshop.com ever provided receipts. I HIGHLY recommend Colt products. Buds is great for inities lost, but if you need warranty service or rebates, you may not get a prrof-of-purchase from Buds.

A colt is a colt is a colt, what more can be said to make it any better? Except I just paid $27.10 more for my gun than listed here at $795. Would like to see a Double Eagle in the Commander size someday.

Outstanding customer service from Bud's as always. Slight hiccup trying to get the thing from my FFL, but Team Bud's CS recommended that I be patient. Glad I did, received my Colt today and to my surprise it has the up-swept beavertail safety. Thanks again Bud's!

Great pistol in true Colt fashion. I have waited to review this beautiful 1911 until I put it through its paces. I have now fired over 1K rounds and have yet to have a single hiccup. Very comfortable in the hand and easy to point and shoot. Not only is it fun to shoot, but it is also a Colt! Thanks Buds for a great transaction and another great pistol.

Amazing gun. 100rds down range and not one problem. I have been shooting for about a 10 years now and many types of handguns. and I got the best group ever with this one. one big hole at 21 feet.

Its a colt ( but for those who dont know) . . . Not the most fancy gun in the world ( when compared to my kimber) but its super heavy duty and built like a tank (unlike my kimber , witch I pretty much use as a range queen). Perfect slide to frame fit for a carry gun, just enough room to be releyable but tight enough that it dosnt rattle, snug bushing, finish is up to colt quality as usual, grips are kinda crapy but they can do the job till u can afford g10s or something. . . Not the biggest fan of the series 80 trigger but I planed on having that fixed befor I bought the gun . . . all and all a great carry or daily use handgun with knock down power right out the box. . . With a little tender love and care however I may turn it into a real combat ass kicker.

I have owned several 1911's over the years and this is my first new Colt Commander. I love the size and balance of the gun. The fit and finish of the gun is great, no side-to-side play in the slide, the trigger is fairly light and breaks clean. I have put over 200 rounds thru this gun with a hiccup. The gun shot hollow points, round nose and even lead SWC handloads without any problems at all! The gun was alittle more accurate than I was expecting. Overall this a great gun and will be replacing my Springfield.

I own several colt 1911 pistols and have owned many other brands as well. IMO colt is the best bang for the money; high quality, great resale if necessary, good warranty. This commander has ran perfectly, eats all kinds of ammo, doesn't have a bunch of "stuff" on it to distract from it's perfect good looks and is easy enough to carry in my DeSantis Mad Max IWB holster. Reassuringly heavy, but so comfortable I almost forget it's there. For the money I believe the 1991 model Colts represent the best value in an all steel, American made 1911. "Colt pistols and S&W revolvers" all you need to know, it's that easy and oh yeah, shop at BudsGuns.
