Bought two of them and am pleased with them both; 38 Specials. Charter Arms are inexpensive handguns that have been around and been reliable for decades, some call them "cheap" handguns. That's okay, they can make fun if they like, but if the s___ jumps off I'll more than likely have a 3-10 feet distance to work with and "pretty" or "expensive" won't matter anymore.

I didn't like this gun and ended up selling it. When I would get up past 40 or 50 rounds, it would jam, and one time stopped working altogether. I kept in clean but it just struggled with multi-round practice sessions.

charter arms is a quality made gun in the u.s.a it has a very comfortable grip and feels good in your hand. i bought a s/w airweight earleir and this one feel much better. jvery happy with it. john w.

After a couple of weeks I had an opportunity to test-fire this small .38 special, and overall, I was happy with it. I expected there to be more recoil due to the light weight, and that was the case, but I quickly became use to it. The rubber gripes help absorb the shock. However, I can't imagine anyone firing a .357 magnum lite without getting a sore hand! I'm no marksman, but I was fairly accurate with it. I believe it's going to be a great conceal carry gun.
Not really a negative, but something to be aware of, is the aluminum frame requires a different product for cleaning than I had used previously. Following recommendations I read on-line, I used G-96 Nitro Solvent and Break Free CLP. So far, I haven't had any problems with those.
